Have you contacted DSA for exchange? This is a flaw and they are usually good at standing by their products. ....from what I have heard.

In looking at this again, I think we all see things like this. I know I have, but generally I dismissed it. MISTAKE. One more thing to look for. And hopefully it's just a slip on this *one* or a very small quality control issue. It happens, heck, I know I'm guilty of hiding flaws in things I've built over the years. Just nothing that could be a safety issue. Now if we hear of more...then we can really have something to talk about.

Findlithui, not an exchange but you should get a refund then! Design flaw is even worse than defect.

Was purchased second-hand. Refund isn't an option.

Hi Findlithui,
Sorry, I just stumbled on this thread. I realise that it was posted almost two years ago, but I figured I would respond to clarify a couple of issues. First, I totally agree with you about the tang. It is horrible. This would never come out of our shop, unless it was sold as a defect item on the liquidation page. That said, you mentioned in your last communication with another forum member that 'refund is not an option since you bought the sword second hand'. I would have suggested contacting the person who sold you the sword, to find out if he purchased it as a defective item (from our liquidation page) or 2- did he make modifications to the sword itself, as again this would have never passed our quality control.
In all fairness, this should have been mentioned at the top of your review. We do not ship flawed merchandise such as this, unless, again, it was on our liquidate page with full disclosure. I think this would have been the fair approach, not just for ourselves but for all retailers and manufacturers.
That said, we do stand by our products and customers. If you still have the sword, I can certainly fix it for you, free of charge. You will be responsible for the shipping fees. In future, when purchasing a second hand sword (made by any manufacturer) please ask the person if he made modifications to the sword, took it apart, sharpened the blade post delivery, or purchased as a flawed item. You need to know what you are buying. Purchasing a sword under these conditions (ie second hand), Not contacting the manufacturer in regards to issues and then posting a thread entitled 'construction Alert' is completely unfair to any retailer and/or manufacturer, especially when you make no mention about the second hand acquisition in your report / review.
In any event, you can contact me directly at eyal@darksword-armory.com so that we can look into the matter.
Thank you,
Eyal,
Darksword Armory inc.
