I found this in my archive, filed under ,, Unknown Windlass Model''. I uploaded in the original format, so one needs to hit the printer button to view full size. I have seen that pommel before somewhere and that scabbard sure looks like a Windlass to me. Also, some part of the Windlass Pirate cutlass basket seems to be incorporated in the hilt of a rapier or side sword. The blade could be anything, but if we assume the scabbard is from Windlass, it follows the blade must be too. So, what is this? A very nice looking confection or an old Windlass model? One thing is for sure: I want it! Cheers. edit: Yup. The pommel is now in use on the 15th C. Long sword: www.kultofathena.com/images%5C500800_2_l.jpg

That has the look of an older Brookhart MRL design which I assume would have been manufactured for them by WIndlass. Jonschwertfecter has some older MRL catalogs and maybe could ID this.

This sword is in an old MRL catalogue that I have, dating from around 2000. I remember that it was an active model for a number of years, but, of course, it has long been discontinued. They called it the German Cut and Thrust Sword, model #1-058, and dated it to around 1550. It was made by Windlass. They were charging $265.00 for it.
Specs, in inches -
OL - 40.75 BL - 34 BW - 2 WT - 3lbs, 6oz.

Thank you both for the input. Really great. As a German C. and T. it fits in nicely with the English, French and Italian. Rautaportti cum IrongateArmoury has those. Tried to contact them, but there is no answer. Still, I will keep on trying and maybe might interest them to have Windlass make a bunch for them, like they did with the Rheinfelden, the Renaissance war sword and the Novara. I really like the looks of this one and the fact that is not for sale anymore just makes me want it more. By the way, $ 265 for a Windlass from around the year 2000, that is not cheap!
