She's a beauty man. excellent work. too bad about the horn. so far I've only used horn as end caps or spacers and never a whole-grip scale. guess I'm gonna have to try it one of these days. how long have you been pattern welding and how long did it take you to get this patter working?

i didnt do the pattern welding, i bought the billet of steel and cut out/ground the knife out with stock removal like i do on all my others

The new handle scales look better than the old ones and they might be more durable as well. I've got a few kukris with buffalo horn handles and the material seems to develop cracks easily.

This reminds me of a knife over at cabellas, also a pattern welded bowie, the only difference is the handle scales are antler. Either way, mighty fine work.

i think i just saw the one your talking about, its a different pattern of steel, with a straight guard and antler grip. its pretty typical, the steriotypical bowie blade shape has been around for quite some time

That's a great looking knife, good job!! I much prefer the wooden handle, good decision to go with that.
