Im with Rabel. I have a Atrim Phat Bastard, and it handles very well, and feels like you could take apart a tank with it. VERY powerful cutter, and the blade shape makes for a very formidable point. Just a solid all around sword, cut and thrust.

34" I think... at least mine one does. Though there is/was also a longer version. Both are XVIIIc, not XVa in any case.

Yup, there are to my knowledge at least 4 sizes of phat bastard: a short one the Christian Fletcher used for his (venetian?) , one about 36, one about 38 (that only a very few were made of) and the 27 inch single handed 1557. I'm sure tomorrow Gus will call me and correct me as I got something wrong but there are definitely 3 or 4 swords in the phat phamily. And they are all phantastic.

After reading all of these positive comments regarding the Crecy, I began to take a closer look at this blade. I have been trying to decide on a third sword (and PM'd a few of you to get your opinions) and, while I very much like my two Hanwei blades, I came to the decision that I would like a better quality blade to train with. I contacted Christian Fletcher yesterday and placed an order for a Borderwatch in dark walnut brown.
There are a lot of positive reviews already for this sword. I'll post descriptions, pictures and videos for mine once I receive it.

You will like that sword. Your bank account will not but you will have a treasure. Congrats, now the hard part: waiting.

If you don't mind my asking, how long was the quoted wait time?

When I spoke the person who answered the phone (not Christian himself), I believe she mentioned 6-8 weeks. I'll let you know when I'm given a more specific time frame.

Update on the Borderwatch wait time:
Just received an email from Christian confirming the 6-8 week wait time. But the only reason it is that short is because he already happened to have the blade on hand and he just has to work on the fittings. The usual wait time is about 6 months.

Final update on Borderwatch order: Last week I received a progress photo for my CF Borderwatch. It was soon followed by an email with a photo of the completed sword! Christian shipped the sword Monday and I would actually have it in my hands now, except that FedEx tried to deliver it while I was at work. I'll pick it up from the local FedEx store tomorrow. Pics and cutting videos soon to follow
