Looks nice enough to me!!! That will make a nice functional falcata for a fraction of the price (besides the historical falcata was used to land heavy blows much like this cold steelmachete, so let's call it the bastard son)The two handed one looks like a troll weapon out of LOTR (ok the handle is a bit sophisticated but still is troll-like)

Cold Steel is also coming out with a bunch of really cool new machetes. They'va already been delayed a month, so no telling when they'll actually be on sale, but it should be pretty soon. Check these babies out (if you haven't already): www.coldsteel.com/machetes.html

Yay!!! The Seax and Kopis Machetes are must haves!!! At last a poor man's sword haven!!! I guess that'll save me money for investing in better japanese styled swords (my favorites). I'll try to upload my collection of European swords (got a wall hanger Wallace and Bastard), axes (wall hangers), a very ugly shield (SCA grade but ugly downright) and my japanese styled blades (one wall hanger that should look like Ruruoni Kenshin's reverse blade but is horrible i hate it) and two low (deep low) end functional swords (one is unsharpened, the shame)....

I think you'll really like the Magnum Kukri. I still haven't gotten around to my informal machete comparison test, since I decided to add a couple to the list before I do, but I really like the Magnum so far. I've chopped up some branches, particle board, and lumber (2x4), and it hasn't sustained any damage. It's pretty comfy to use too.

I've been shopping the new Cold Steel line too. I like the Bowie, Kopis and Magnum.
All I have is a cheap "Wal-Mart Special."

Dammit! I'm still waiting to pick up an 18" barong machete and maybe a kopis machete, but Cold Steel keeps bumping the arrival date! Every time I check, they've extended it by a month... Not to mention no new 1796's at Loyalist...Life is bleak, my friends...

Ive got a $40 AUS Machette from the army disposals. Its black steel, razor, small tang and compass hilt which can fold off for putting your stash in when the cops find you cutting up someones backyard - if you don't get hit for that first!
Its brilliant, actually. It took me a whole day but I built a mud cottage about 200m into the bush cutting through the thick shrub. F'ing lantana has no chance.

Hey Tajima, That machete will come in quite handy while living in the bush like a hermit! I hear there are also all kinds of tasty animals around there. Just one question, does the cottage have a loo?

Just one question, does the cottage have a loo? I sure hope so, if he's gonna be eating all those tasty animals you mentioned... ;D

Cold Steel still has their new machetes scheduled for release the 15th of this month. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I want both barong machetes and the kopis. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my machete tests done soon. I was going to compare a couple different makers, but...since CS has the most diverse line of machetes, I think I'll just compare their stuff. So far, I have the Magnum Kukri, Kukri, Panga, Heavy, and Two-Handed. The 12" and 18" Barongs and the Kopis ought to round things out nicely. I have done a bit of chopping on various pieces of wood and vegetation, and I will say that, so far, all the ones I have have held up great. I've read numerous criticisms of CS's machetes, mostly dealing with bad tempering and poor edge holding. I haven't found a single example of this in the lot thus far. In fact, a couple of them were rather rough around the edges (blades are stamped, so this is fairly normal) and the metal seemed quite hard when I went to smooth things out with a file. Maybe I've just been lucky with mine? Anyhow, if they don't bump them up another month (again!), I'll should have them en route in a couple weeks. Btw, why did they have to release these www.ltspecpro.com/fighters.html right at his particular time, as well? *SIGH*...well, there goes more of my hard-earned cash that's gonna end up in Mr. Thompson's bank account... ;D

So Krieg, when ya driving over to Texas to try out all those new machetes? The sunflowers are 6 feet tall now and about 3-4 inches in diameter at the base. And the milk thistle is thick as thieves! All just waiting for you to assail them 'til you can't stand!

Lol. I do so enjoy a good milk thistle cut. Truly, there is nothing quite as sublime or spiritually uplifting as the meeting of a machete blade and a milk thistle stalk. Poor thistle! We hardly knew ye! Parting is such sweet sorrow (especially when it is accomplished with a machete )... ;D Don't worry, Mike. I've been letting the weeds grow unabated in my yard for some time now. Now, I just have to start hacking them before they all die from the heat... Of course, if I set up a mist system in the backyard, I could enjoy slaying weeds all summer long.

I thought of that too, Tajima, but since he is selling it new through his eBay store it might not qualify for the Classified section. I'm not really sure? Thoughts, Paul?
