I have wanted on of these since I saw the black cat in Usagi Yojimbo 12 with one. lol. I was just considering buying/making one the past few weeks but didn't know what they're called. Awesomeness!
They're not common so I wonder where I might be able to find one or have one made. Even just the tip since I'd like to make the rest myself.

I am having a yari tip made by sinosword. Never worked with them before so I am interested in what the results will be. Just ordered it last week so it will be awhile before completion.

Oh cool..you'll have to post pics when you get it. Are you going for one like the pic you posted here? Mind if I ask how much it's gonna cost?

I asked for a similar hamon to the muramasa yari however the blade geometry is a more a standard size su-yari. The nagasa i chose was 8.25" with a 11" tang. Since i was curious and the price was right I am trying out their own version of folded tamehagane with a traditional polish. Price was 166$ plus shipping. I was quoted 60$ plus shipping for a plain mono-steel with the mirror polish.
