but shortly I will have a new site www.stromloswords.comSebastian, you are correct in that shipping on a small quantity of swords is very expensive, but weaponedge make great swords. Of course I will say buy from me, but you need to remember there are a lot of extra fees associated with importing depending on how and where you are. best regards, rob

Thanks for the link Sebastian...
Unfortunately, I already took the plunge and made the transfer to Weaponedge...
They gave me news alright but with sometime long delays between my questions and their answers...
after the transfer: no news for days, then I wrote a few times asking news: their bank was on strike so they couldn't verify the status of my transfer...
last message I had, middle of last week, they said they were shipping the sword today and would confirm by e-mail....nothing as of yet ( and it is 11h35 pm in India now)...should I worry? They said in a response to two or three of my mails asking for news of my order: "do not be worried"...
well, now I am. Sigh.
More news as they come...

Hi again, As I posted on the other Weaponedge thread, when getting one sword from overseas there can be many additional payments fees and if you got cheap postage it will no doubt take a fair while to arrive. That said I think you will be pleased with product and I would be fairly confident they sent it, whether Indian Post can deliver or not would be my only concern. Site not completely finished but Have a look at www.weaponedge.com/stromlo for US prices, works best if click on the left side lists, swords by nationality. Regards, Rob Stromlo Swords

Well, in the end, everything went well, after my initial concerns: I got the sword yesterday!
Beautiful sword, very happy with it!
I have posted more details in the general section, in the "About WeaponEdge" thread.
Thanks to all for advice and support!

Hi again everyone, Just needed to update this briefly. Stromlo Swords website is now working at: www.stromloswords.comAlso Weaponedge, my supplier, has advised me that they no longer supply Military Heritage, perhaps they have found a cheaper supplier? Not sure. Either way I need to take back comments I made that I will better their prices for SBG members. You cant compare apples to oranges. Thankyou all, Robert

Hi Rob,
That is interesting news indeed. As mentioned aside, it will be interesting to see if Discriminating General (Military Heritage) continues to field the same line, with the same pictures. Propriety sales and occlusion of information will continue to plague both suppliers and free trade. As the products as pictured continue to sell in the UK and in Europe (as pointed out in the spadroon aging thread), it becomes a continually interesting topic on the boards as to where exactly given product is manufactured and distributed. Disclosure of contract between any source and retail outlet can be bound only between those participating at the trade level. Speculation and assumption at the consumer level will continue (truth or not) until absolutes can be proven true or false by the producers themselves.
Cheers

Oh yes, I meant to ask if sharps are to be available on a wide basis
