I think I understand the concept better, but I'm afraid I'm still having difficulty seeing it in their pictures except where they are illustrating with the red lines. But, it did make a clear spot in the muddle of my head!

The KC 26 and 29 series katana possess fumbari but then again they are made in the Philippines and not China

ive had this sword for some years, the jewl in my collection.
Please tell me if you cutt with it , i know its hardly ever been tested because of price.

I have cut with a Hanwei Tiger on a few occasions. I am not personally a fan of the large tsuka but it does let you get a lot of tip speed. Anyway, the blade word fine on rolled news papers with a wooden core. That was the hardest target I cut with the tiger. Edge alignment is important in the blade (more so than some others) because it can bend a bit easier than some of its heavier XL geometry friends. I can't say I was overly impressed by the cutting ability. (probably just user error) It made it though the targets but I could never get it to cut very smooth.

Sorry for thread necromancing... But does someone own or at least has handled the Elite version of the Tiger? I'm curious to know if the "new " version is as good as the old one seems to be.
