How about a CS Katana Machete? I cut just over 4 inches off the handle of mine, sanded the grip a bit so it fits my hand better, shortened the cross guard on the back side, and sharpened the last six inches of the spine. I prefer the looks and the way it handles now, it's tough as anything and is a chopping and stabbing beast!
Other suggestions would be a CS Barong machete, or a Windlass Qama (sand the grip less shiny and wrap the sheath in paracord to make it more tacticool!), or something from Windlass' Cobra Steel range (I like the Kindjal).

I like the katana machete and have a cold steel barong and a Qama. I'd prefer the gladius or something from condor tool & knife.

Added a yellow 18" Stanley crowbar to my kit yesterday. I already put grip tape on it. But are there any other modifications that you can do to it? Wouldn't mind a sheath for it as well.

John570, could you please avoid multi-posting (making multiple posts in a single row) ?
Back to the main subject... I think any good quality machete with a serviceable edge and point would be fine. Most good machetes are light, easy to use, yet have decent-to-great reach and great cutting/chopping power. My Cold Steel 12'' Barong machete, for example, has all these perks (except the reach, but a 12'' bladed knife still has plenty more reach than the average hunting knife). I wouldn't bother with any kind of sword, other than the good ol' machete.

Pretty good, the westernised tanto point is good and strong and the extra sharpened portion helps it penetrate. I've got the shorter (19" blade) version, i've been thinking about picking up the new longer one (24" blade) but i'm concerned the extra length might make it whippy.
