![](http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x210/darkintruder/100_0962.jpg) Isn't she pretty? Just got it from Reliks yesterday. It feels great in the hand, nice and fast, and solid as well. I'll review it sometime soon, after I get it sharpened. Just one small issue that I'd like to get a professional opinion on. The blade is slightly offcentre to the hilt. (Meaning the blade curves slightly from the grip and maybe the tang as well, though not the cross.) Unfortunately, I can't get a look at the tang, as the pommel is peened. (I know, PEENED! On a WINDLASS!) Can this have any affect on the sword? Just asking.

Hardly a professional opinion, but an absolutely HUGE porportion of antique swords I've seen are like that. Anywho, that's the type "IV" right ![;)](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ?

Looks good, Darko. I don't quite understand what you mean about it being off center. (ya, I'm thick). How bout a picture. Did Brian get a sword like that?

MRL's double loops sword belt....thing.
I've got one too.
(At least that's what I think it is....)

I handled this sword the last time I went to Reliks and I too was impressed by how nicely balanced this sword was. Great acquisition my friend. That is a beautiful sword, love the type XIV.

Yes, Jason, the double wrap belt was from MRL. One of their better acessories, IMO. It holds most scabbards quite nicely. I got it off Ebay for $15. Apparently, the guy there is selling off clothing from the Crusade movie Soldier of God wholesale for low prices. I even picked up a very nice pair of handmade linen Braes for $10. RicWilly, yes, Brian has one of these XIV's. As for the blade, well it's hard to get a good picture, but I'll do a quick drawing. If you draw a straight line down the center of the pommel, grip, and blade, it should be straight, or roughly so. On mine, the blade runs slightly to the left. ![](http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x210/darkintruder/Sword.jpg) I don't really think it would affect anything, but just wanted to be sure.

It looked like a better quality leather than what MRL uses. Their's sort of had a plastic look, but yours looks like real leather. Maybe because it is sort of aged and worn looking.

Thanks Brian, that's pretty much what I thought. At the moment, I'm deciding whether or not I should look for some sort of seal to put in the pommel...

thats a great looking sword darkintruder!
i've had my eye on it for some time and i gotta say it looks even better in your picture than anywhere else i've seen it.
would you say the blade is rigid enough for a type XIV or is it one of those slightly floppy windlass blades?
i think it'd be cool to see a side by side comparison of the windlass XIV and the darksword knight since they look very similar...

I could do a side by side visual and handling comparison. I will try to get it done this week.

I like that style sword. I have one similar. Its very fast.
If the sword is bent out of the box you should send it back and get it replaced.

David, I'd say the flex is pretty near spot on for this type of blade. Holding it out flat, it doesn't sag at all, but it's still flexible enough that it wouldn't easily take a set on a bad hit.
Tsafa, I wouldn't say it's a problem. It's barely noticeably, I only saw it because when I measured it with a stiff tape measure, the blade went ever so slightly off to the left. About maybe 1 degree, if that much. Unless you looked really hard, you wouldn't notice anything wrong. In fact, the harder I look, the more it looks like it could be just the fuller and diamond ridgeline that are a little off, and that's what's throwing me for a whirl.
Will do Brian. Does anyone know a good place for reproduction medieval coins?

that's a sweet looking blade - the PoB is probably near the hilt, making it a lot faster than one would think... looking forward to hearing more!

Hey DI She is pretty indeed. Love the way the fuller tapers. Would it be possible to get all the measure ments off you please? Inlcuding width of sword at base and at 3" from tip. I've got a mind to make something like this. I have a pommel ready to go. ![](http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee149/brennyo2/wheel_02.jpg)

I, too, really like that belt. And it sounds like you got quite a deal on it. ![:D](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Sweet piece, DI. I've been looking at a few single handed swords for a bit now.

Sure thing Brenno, I'll do them tonight after I finish work.
What measurements in particular are you looking for, so I don't miss any?
