Gday there I'm new to the forum and to swords in general,I've ordered a Darksword Armoury Danish 2 Hander as my first proper sword (should be arriving next week, can't wait!) and I was wondering if other owners of the same sword could give me their opinions and maybe post up a few pictures? Cheers Pete

Aside from the horrible sharpening, these are the two issues I have with mine... Here's a vid of me cutting with it. This is before the sharpening fairy got rid of the bevel. I really like my Danish. The rounded grip is more comfortable to my hands.

Hi Pete ! There's also this review I did. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5824&hilit=dsa+danishIf you have any more questions please ask, but all in all its a fast and light sword, sharpening job isn't worth much and some details could have been done better with some extra more care.

Well I got my Danish 2 Hander today and I must confess to being very underwhelmed by it.The scabbard is extremely loose, the pommel is on crooked, the fuller is off center, the blade is off center to the cross guard, and when I flexed the blade it remained bent. For how much it cost me in Oz and the hassle I had in getting it here(thanks to Paul for sorting that out for me) I really think I should have spent my money elsewhere, say on a Hanwei Tinker longsword,or a Ruger 77/44. maybe it will grow on me but at the moment I'm thinking of ti more as a very expensive wall hanger rather than practical combat ready sword.More the fool me I guess

I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with your sword. It's more than a wall-hangar, though. I remember someone hitting the cutting stand pretty hard with his or hers at the SBG Meet earlier this month, and it's still alive and haven't heard any reports of it being damaged. If you can, a full review would be nice, as more new people or others just doing shopping research can get another source of information from a person with first-hand experience with the sword.

That thing should never have passed QC... I'm sure that Paul or Eyal will find a way to settle this, but it should have never happened in the first place.

It gets worse guys I decided I was going to keep the sword and just cut off the tip section which by the way I can bend with my thumb and forefinger,so I thought I'd do a bit of light cutting on objects that I test all my various bladed weapons on.Big mistake !!!! Now the handle has come loose,I can twist it aroun nearly 45 degrees on the axis and it moves in my hand just swinging it in the air! I have a $100 ebay no name Braveheart replica that has taken more punishment and that only has a very slightly wobbly crossguard after 3 years of playing around! I'm pretty bloody annoyed that a supposedly combat ready sword from a name maker is this shite! I could've used that $470 bucks to get something useful that didn't break the first day I owned it! I'm hoping Paul will help me come up with a solution that doesn't cost me $100 each way in freight.does anyone know how to fix a loose grip on a peened hilt ?

There are ways to fix it but do you really want to invest any more of your time in it? I have gotten a few swords that were turds and chucked them in a dumpster as I did not want to even look at them anymore. It is one thing to fix maybe a slight flaw or change something just because you want to. Another to invest time in multiple flaws.

If all this is true, contact Paul Southern (if you bought it from the SBG Store) about a replacement. Shipping it back to DSA and having them send you a new one (they should NOT charge you to have a replacement shipped TO you) is going to be cheaper than fixing stuff or doing custom work.
Also, it's a good idea to post a review with pictures of it all, so that others shopping around and researching two-handed swords may come across it and be warned.

Contact Eyal directly at DSA. See if he can do anything, take pics of the sword and send him.

What is up with this? Is DSA's twohanders going south? my friend had two issues with his DSAs (long sword, warswords) as well. were my neighbor and i have never had a problem with a single handed sword made by DSA. Do they have a new inexperinced guy foriging some of their twohanders or something?

I feel you're pain and know how deflating it can be. I posted a topic a few days ago as i had a custom sword from DSA and was very disappointed. Crooked guard, wavy blade and i didn't see much similarity to the pics i sent them. I emailed DSA and Eyal was concerned about the crooked guard and asked for a pic which i sent yesterday and i am waiting for their response. I don't know whats going on but i think they have a serious issue with qc. I suggest everyone email Eyal if they have problems as he did seem concerned. Maybe an employee needs a kick up the arse!

Good news contacted Paul and he's working with me on a solution, unfortunately it will still leave me with trying to repair the hilt and modify the tip,but at least he's taken it seriously.Actually,on the whole,he has been an absolute gentleman to deal with,so cheers to Mr Southren! Now,has anybody pulled apart the hilt assembly on a DSA sword ?
