Hey thanks for the review I think I will be adding this sword to my collection now. Out of curiosity, what is your take on why very little shock is transferred to your hands?

Youre very welcome, and im glad the review helped.
To be honest i dont know why so little shock is transfered to your hands. Im sure the sheer bulk of the blade has a lot to do with it(i am used to lighter katana), but there are bound to be other variables as well. Hopefully someone a little wiser than i can chime in on that one. Usually the tsuka plays a large role in that, but to be honest in swords of this price range i wouldnt expect the same shock absorption as youd get with a properly made and fully wrapped tsuka. Though, like i said in the review, the tsuka on this particular katana seems to be well made. I dont know if i just got lucky or not though lol

I also lost my book marks so if any one could let me know the best place to order this sword from. im willing to pay a little more if it means ordering from a site that has a very good rep with helpful customer support.

I would normally point you to the SBG Store page but Musashi are not featured. Have a look on the True Swords page here www.trueswords.com/musashi-folde ... -6095.html @$199

Note the claim that - "Both 1045 and 1060 high carbon steel are fixed together and folded eleven times resulting in 4096 layers. "
Someone in the ad department has a math problem, starting at the first fold we have the following progression. 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 - you would need 12 folds to get 4096.

Well... if you start with 2 layers (1045 & 1060) to begin with, then 11 folds would net you 4096 folds...
