The blade is incredibly light and agile for its size. It is a tiny bit whippy but not thick and clumsy. I ordered it to be sharp and I feel it is a very dangerous and powerful cutter. Let's just say that I am in complete love with this one.

Stunning collection Pino...as a rank newbie collector I am in a kind of awe, heh.
Very interesting that kyu-gunto, have never seen a double-fullered blade before - do you happen to know how rare they are? I have a mate who is developing a Japanese interest and will definitely show him this one.

Japanese 1892 Type 25 cavalry trooper sword In service from c.1892 until 1899, it's design was very simple but efficient: the scabbard lock is located at the top of the blade and the release button at the back strap. The machine made blade is stamped with the serial number and a kanji mark at the ricasso. Saber length ......................... 900 mm / 35'' Blade length ......................... 780 mm / 30'' Blade ricasso width (max.) ...... 25 mm / 1'' Back blade width: .................. 5mm at base to 3mm at point POB ..................................... 130 mm / 5''

Bavarian Hussar sabre 1813 and Heavy Cavalry Pallasch 1890 The 1813 model was carried first by Hussar units during the Nap wars and later given to artillery and ammo regiments. This model is not to be confused with the revamped 1873 version. this specimen is marked with the markings of regiment M.F.6.49 then reassigned to 1.A.F.4.44 which is Bay. 1. Fussartillerie-Rgt. “vac. Bothmer” (Ingolstadt), 4th Battery, Weapon Nr. 44, the scabbard is marked with the rgt marking 1.A.F.4.36. Saber length ......................... 990 mm / 39'' Blade length ......................... 840 mm / 33'' Blade ricasso width (max.) ...... 35 mm / 1 3/8'' Back blade width: .................. 9mm at base to 5mm at center to 2mm at point POB ..................................... 180 mm / 7'' The 1860-90 pallasch strikes by its unusual form compared to traditional pallasches: the pommel cap is rounder and the ferrule square in form. The very heavy blade kept its hatchet form to the end of its service in 1919. The sword is marked B.1.s.R.1.14. for (Bay.) 1. Schweres Reiter-Regiment ''Prinz Karl von Bayern'', 1st Squadron, weapon no 14. The ricasso is tamped Amberg for the city of manufacturer. First formed in 1814 as the Kings Garde-du-Corps/Lifeguards Kurassiers it later was renamed to the aforementioned rgt and participated in the War of the Sixth Coalition, the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 and World War I. The regiment was then disbanded in 1919. Saber length ......................... 1060 mm / 42'' Blade length ......................... 900 mm / 35.5'' Blade ricasso width (max.) ...... 35 mm / 1 3/8'' Back blade width: .................. 9mm at base to 6mm at center to 3mm at point POB ..................................... 140 mm / 5.5''
