Thanks for the excellent review, I just got this for Christmas. I'm a bit of a Civil War buff, and really wanted this piece. The gap you mentioned is no where as pronounced on mine as it appears on your example. As for the sharpening process, I ordered mine from Reliks here in Canada, and opted for the optional sharpening. It looks really good with no second bevel... In all, I really enjoy my new blade.

Thanks for all the kind words.. I really did enjoy this sword... Was the first sword i almost cut my finger off with LOL... But like all my other swords i had to sell her.. But im happy people still get use out of this revieuw
