Just a TTT for Saitos Euro guide. I've been seeing some renewed interest in these styles.

The Stage Steel guide is still being drafted.. I realized I wanted to touch on the differences/lack of features v.s. blade and stage swords, and don't have all the technical knowledge(or I know A means a good stage sword, but not why). So I'm getting so extra help, both from lurkers here (Darck, who's a good sparrer) and performers from my group of friends, Darck's, and my old group too.
There's more to stage steel than a big heavy crowbar wrapped in leather, trust me!

Friendly bump. Been a few questions about Euro's lately, thought Saito's guide could help.

I guess it's time for us fans of Chinese blades to write something...

I could do most of it, but the terminology in Chinese is just beyond me and I don't have my wife handy.

There was someone who was making a Chinese dao parts guide much like the katana ones you see of a picture of the dao with the parts all labeled with the names. Wonder what happened to that. Something else to mention about Euros, they tend to run a bit more expensive than the katana market. rather than a $100 functional katana, you have to step up to $300 range to find the functional Euros and more likely $500 and up for functional Euros. Katana have a lower price due to a larger volume of sales and production than Euros, so if your getting into Euros don't expect katana prices for something decent. However you will end up getting something much more unique than many of the katana you see by going Euro.

+1 Karma for Saito on this. Something to add...maybe a drawing of the COP nodes from a side view. Although that would probabaly need a seperate simplistic write up. I am looking forward to the stage sword write up, there has to be good stuff most of us never considered in it.

I have a rapier (which this guide neglects ) underway from Arma Bohemia. Will review/commend on it upon arrival (and/or after my first sparring match with it).

Well, someone should write a rapier buying advice then I'll see what I can do when I've got mine.

Junon, if you can do one of those for jian as well, I could bust out a Chinese guide in a couple days...
