The tribal stuff is a little bit difficult, i've only done a couple like that. I was actually surprised how difficult it was to draw a wolf hat looks like a wolf. The fluffier coat makes it tough to use anatomical cues, so when i was trying to draw a timber wolf type, it kept looking like a german shepard/pug hybrid. I'm glad I saw this thread cause it made me try something i've been wanting to do for a while.

Some nice work. Love those hamons. Saw some of them before but they got lost with the old WSS forum, eh?
On the wolf, also a nice design. But one thing I gotta ask: why the chains? To me, a wolf symbolizes strength, endurance, cunning, and nearly as much as the eagle, freedom. To show him chained says to me that he is not that strong, not cunning enough to evade capture. Basically, he's just like the rest of us.
If you are set on using chains, maybe show him breaking them?

the chained wolf is an homage to Fenrir of norse mythology, chained in the ragnarok until the day of the great battle when he kills Odin. I see someone skips all them pesky lil words and just looks at da pictures huh,.....

Saito, i didn't realize you were looking to have the hilt parts cast. For whatever reason i was thinking of etching or engraving. I've been trying to work up the nerve to bust out the tools and engrave/silver inlay my bastard sword so i guess the thought is stuck in my head.

OK GUY's, your comments got me thinking, maybe the suontaka howling wolf pommel was a bit much, and a bit cheesy. So i sat down for 45 minutes to see what else i could come up with and i think we've got a winner! check it out! I gave it a quadruple "lobed" shape shown in some other viking pommels, but stretched it out to be longer, and added the wolfs head to it with chains at the base, continuing the chained theme shown in the guard, this is totally unique and i think its a 100% upgrade to the old pommel, with some tweaking and fine details i think this is gonna be a winner. gotta thank you guys for having the guts to criticize and speak your mind, it got me thinking about how i could improve. Lemme know what you guys think, now i just have to get the scale'ing right so its the right size in comparison to the guard

Very nicely done. I like this alot!! That really works sooo much better with the new pommel shape, it really has a much more regal feel now.

Heres a New piece of Work i Did up, i plan on it being One of 3-5 Prototypes of my own brand of knife,"Tombstone Customs". Ill probably try to have a prototype fully completed sometime after the first of the year. probably closer to feb-march in all honesty. Inscription reads "Death to Evil" Its a Viking type Seax with a Coffin Shaped Handle secured by Brass pins. It will be 100% full tang with pannel type grips. Gonna try for a Differential Hardened Blade, might not work out. Blade Length- 13 to 15 inches Handle Length- 5 inches Blade width- somewhere around 2 inches Weight- Not sure honestly Thickness- not sure...whatever half of 1/4 inch is...i suck at math hahahha More Prototypes to Come..... Heres Vincents Interpretation it, created with his Mad Skills at Inkscape. Mine was made Via Photoshop/MSpaint. Thanks Vince! Much appreciated!
