Those swords are made by Zheng Wu, just the site is totally crap but the photo's are worth it though I agree with you on the weird handling of the Han Jian, I've got one from Garrett a while back and it has the octagonal cross section with differential hardened tightly folded blade. I can not get used to the round handle and this thing is a beast to wield and a killer on the wrist, it's totally ridiculous for form but for cutting it is awesome. Yes I know most swords are based on surviving Ming examples and the earlier dynasty are very rare. This by no means there is none though, more and more swords are showing up from earlier dynasties and I hope they'll go into reproduction so at least I can afford one Houshe I know you're waiting for Garrett to bring out his new line of fittings and so am I dude. I heard some are going to be iron so that's exciting since I wanted a Zhanmadao with iron fittings.

hmm, I agree with HouShe. A lot of Hanwei's Chinese swords look funny especially the Qi Jian. No offense to Hanwei owners but I think they could do a lot better, esp. for a production sword that costs over $400! I think more attention should be seen to the growing market of collectors looking for functional Chinese weapons. I mean just look at the scabbard at the practical gongfu dao and almost all of their swords are just too thin for any real use!

Well, it looks good. But the point of balance, though rather nice to one's wrist, seems not very authentic and does not help in thrusting etc.
