Hi Thana - I'm currently dadao-less. My plan is to get the Hanwei Military Dadao this fall using birthday money. Too many good reviews, the size/weight sounds ideal, it has that nice sheath, and the review onsite shows the solid tang construction which is comforting. I bought this instead: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4684I'm still happy with this dao. I've cut up to 1/2" branches with it and a ton of thick cardboard (sword box...and recently a box used to carry a steel hammock stand with hammock - that was one thick box!). The blade has held it's edge now that I have it well sharpened, and no damage or bending at all. I'm sure it's no where near as well made as a more expensive dao, but it's a bargain for the $65 I paid and definitely good for cutting.

Jayhawk Kult of Athena has very good price on the military Da dao. I like the leather scabbard a lot because it look authentic and very functional . I have seen this Qin dao on e-bay for a while but I fear it would not make a good cutter and I have way too many dull Da Dao to deal with at present time so I better learn how to make a good keen edge on dao before getting another one
