I'm looking to get a pair of combat daggers like this one. I already know of a place on the EU for a reasonable price (twice as much ), but I'd like to know if anyone know anything about it or any other good, cheap, daggers in this style (and maybe with a lanyard hole at the handle), or of any other place to get them in the EU. The sheath is kinda irrelevant since I'm gonna try and make a crude tanto like sheath out of some aluminum. Hmm... maybe I should make another thread for this, but I'm also looking for something in the likes of a "talon dagger", cinquedea, anelace, like this one, but combat worthy (as in good enough steel and proper heat treatment). There's a ton of stainless steel ones that are just for show, but I'd like something more usable. Help?

i would imagine ebay's choc full of that style of knife,it doesnt state the type of steel used either :? i dont know of anything around that price that would be suitable (it's not my knife style) ebay uk banned the sale of knives in england (axes /machetes are fine though figuire that one out),though it is still possible to get them,i got my crkt stubby razel through after the knife ban ,and my kershaw rip cord (ordered via the states) if you're country allows knives on ebay thats probably going to be you're best bet, whereabouts in the eu are you from?

I'll give you a hint. We just wussed out and asked to be bailed...
I usually get my stuff from EU shops since ebay doesn't list much stuff in the EU countries. Its funny since we have a ban on swords, well you can get them but you need to be registered at some martial art (has to belong to a federation) or a collectors guild (even though we don't really have any) and pay around 50£ every 6 years and take an insurance... oh yeah, if we ship stuff in from outside the EU, we gotta pay the law enforcement at least 100€ for them to ok it, and that's assuming its a legal weapon AND you have the paperwork AND you schedule that before it arrives. You can buy a combat knife in any shop though...

I've already found the baton thing in the EU, so I'll let him know where to buy it. As for my daggers, as I said, I already know of a place: www.teraasekeskus.com/mainpage.asp These guys carry a ton of stuff. Prices are high compared to the US but reasonable for EU standards.

I was gonna suggest that exact store! A couple of other Finnish online stores that carry this type of daggers and will ship abroad: www.varusteleka.fi/index.php?lang=en_USwww.lamnia.fi/index.php?lang=en& ... 77be345afe It's pretty far from your stated price range, and there are tons of similar, cheaper daggers in these stores, but personally I'd take some time and save up for a Kizlyar KO-2 (as seen here and here; they're available with black blades, too) or two, rather than spend less money on lesser knives. As I've been learning the hard way ever since I got into this hobby, a poor man cannot afford to be cheap.

That is a Beautiful knife! I never heard of this brand before. Russian? MOK you shouldn't have shown me this... I can't afford 2 of them...! I really have to settle for the cheaper ones though...

Sorry, man, but you knew the risks when you took up this hobby. Yeah, Kizlyar is a Russian company that makes knives for some very serious people like Spetsnaz long-range recon specialists. Some of the absolute best combat and survival blades in the world, IMO. Look at the DV-2 - that thing would make John Rambo so jealous. I'm actually planning on a KO-2, DV-2 or the Stalker for my next bigger purchase...

I like the Stalker too. I'm a dagger, rather than just single edged knife aficionado. The reverse is valid for swords though... These knives look like REAL knives. The Desert Stinger I was planning on getting looks like a toy by comparison.

Hell, these monsters make Cold Steel look like toys. They're actually kinda scary - so eminently purposeful, if you know what I mean. Desert Stinger... isn't that the knife the Bride uses in Kill Bill in the fight with Vernita Green? PS. No wait, the one in the movie was the Desert Dagger by SOG - but the Stinger is MTech's copy of the DD...

Hah, it IS! I never realized it. And a copy no less... Must have been some sort of subliminal programming... I actually picked it because I had this concept in mind but I can't afford to go custom... Maybe I'll wait. Don't want to buy a toy anyways. How about that Talon Dagger? Any functional, sharp ones out there?

What, the Valiant Armoury Talon Dagger? The first similar thing that comes to mind is the Sword Hilted Dagger from Windlass - or their Italian Dagger, which is simply a fancier hilt on the same blade. Both are nice little blades, from what I've heard, although they don't come sharp as the default.

I believe the Valiant Armory version is the spiritual successor of CAS Iberia's original talon dagger that was thinner and pointy-er (which I prefer). I've gone over Windlass' daggers but they seem to have a bit softer lines, and a less triangular shape. I wonder if there are more triangular cinquedea style blades that are straight all the way to the point?
There is also a Spanish made replica called the "daguesse" but it looks chunky...

Okay, seeing as my bitrhday is coming up, I'll narrow down my search.
I'm into a fairbanks-sykes style dagger, but wider than traditional models, symetrical double edge, 17cm or 6 5/8 to 7 inch blade, under 31cm or 12 1/2 inch overall, but defenite musts are: lanyard hole at the end of the tang and blade thickness at base (but of the actual blade and not the quillon) of at least 6mm (no idea how much that is in inches...), under 60€ cost per unit (I can't affor those Kizlyar, MOK  ), scabbard is irrelevant. I've found a few (MTech Desert), but let me know what comes to your mind.
The other dagger I'm looking for is: Talon Dagger like the one I mentioned before, but with proper heat treatment (high 50's HRC). Thin is better than chunky. Must be straight to the very point (pun not intended)
Thanks for helping.

Okay... after seeing the tons of variations on Kizlyar I surrendered (thanks MOK). I'll have to save up, but I'm getting either the Ko-1 or the Ko-2. Now if I could only find that Talon Dagger...
