I use MagPul stuff quite a bit. Their MIAD grip system is my favorite, as are their P-Mags and CTR buttstocks. I'm slowly working on getting those parts on all my AR-based rifles.

I am partial to the 30 rnd Pmag. I like the fact the snap on dust cover pushes down on the top round keeping pressure from the fully loaded mag off the feed lips, I have not had a malfunction yet with them "cross my fingers".

Yes. P-Mags galore, MOE and CTR butt stocks. I think I'm about to add an MOE pistol grip on a gun.
How do you like that MOE handguard, Wolf? I only have experience with standard handguards, and rail forends.

it fit's great in my hand,is waay cheap for (in my opinion)a five star handguard,29.99 free shipping here www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XMAG440Blkthe rail section's are 6 bucks each(i have 1,for my mbus front sight),it is really light to,it is made out of polymer, with i believe aluminum heat shield's, the only mags i got for my ar-15 are pmag's,i also have the moe pistol grip, when i have the dough to buy it,ill get an eotech and put the batteries in the storage, almost forgot, they fit on delta ring's and snap on,no gunsmith required

I tried out the MOE grips, but they are a little large for me. I have settled on the MIAD grips with the standard sized backstrap. I have one each coyote tan and an OD green MOE grips if anyone wants to buy them. They have pretty much just been installed and tested, then removed. Make me an offer if you want one or both. Or if you want to trade a MIAD grip kit for a MOE and some cash.

I got some mags for my AKs in 5.45 and 7.62 from magpul. They're great mags! I wouldn't hesitate to use them any time and in comparison to the old Chi-Com or Russian mags they're of top quality and American made to boot! Adds to the whole conversion parts legality game.

I picked up some of their 20-round mags two years ago for shooting my ARs prone. Quality mags and reliable. No function problems of any kind. I like the dust cover which appears to ease the tension on the mag lips (presumed desirable for poly mags).
I've long admired their buttstock replacements as well. I have several ARs with fixed length (non-collapsible) stocks, but cannot make up my mind which variant to install. Any suggestions?

I like Magpul's CTR on light weight rifles and carbines, as it's mor likely to balance the weapon on the front hinge pin. With heavier rifles I like the VLTO EMod buttstock. It's a bit heavier and brings the balance point back on rifles with heavy barrels or lots of stuff hung out on the end of the handguard.
I'm pretty picky about having rifles that balance on the hinge pin or just ahead of it. It makes carrying them more comfortable. And it allows for both smoother and faster off-hand transition between targets without overswing problems, and it makes the rifle mount into point much more consistently.

Ok so I just got a handful of Magpul's Pmags for my AR-15. They function beautifully although I had to sand off the bosses alongside the back ridge of mags to make them usable in my AR. Other than that they feed wonderfully and are quite nice.
I haven't gotten around to customizing the rifle yet - a serious lack of funds prevents that - but I'd imagine if their pmags are an indication of the quality of their other parts then I'd spend the money on them any day (if I had the money to spend).

Glad to hear, Just my opinion but a thousand rounds of quality ammo and a training class will do you far better than any cool accessory you can hang on your rifle. respects will

I completely agree with you. However little things like a pistol grip on the forearm of the rifle, a free floating forearm and an adjustable stock with a 3-point harness would be nice and useful.
I'm not too concerned about cool attachments etc. Just a few little things like what I mentioned above though helps with the handling of the rifle.
That's all.

At my last job we were given 2 P mags and told to test them to failure. We threw them, Kicked them, hit them with hammers and parked a 4X4 Diesel on one. When the Chevy did a burn out on it it got scuffed and we had to cut the burs off to fit it in the gun.
Still Fully functional in a FA Ar carbine. I wont field any other Ar mag if I can help it.
CRT is IMHO the best collapsible Ar stock ever made. But thats just my opinion.

So if they're this robust why aren't our troops fielding them instead of the old mil-spec aluminum mags? I mean I like them and they work better than any mag I've used thus far (not that many since I just got into the world of ARs) but they're nice. Oh btw I mentioned I had magpul mags for AKs - turns out I was wrong. I went back to look at them and I can clearly see the "TAPCO" on the mags. Oops - my mistake.

I am pretty sure the .gov is using them often. If you are currently deployed SAMH or going to be then ask your supply to order NSN: MAG210-BLK MAGAZINE, CARTRIDGE 1005-01-576-5164 for Pmag goodness if you have that ability.

Individual units DO have the option to order Magpul PMags for military use. My unit quartermaster recently asked my advice on new mags to replace our store of pre-ban aluminum mags and gave me the list of what he can choose from. Magpul was on the list and Magpul is what he's ordering. They are well known to be the most reliable magazines on the market. And it's not so much the PMag as it is the MagPul Follower and Spring that you want. Remanned mags with Magpul followers and springs are Quite acceptable for a lower price.

So if I rebuilt the old aluminum mags I have that do not function properly with magpul followers and springs they should function better? I mean it seems a shame to just discard them because they no longer function.

Mostly yes. But some times the feed lips will need to be adjusted so the top round will seat properly. If the feed lips are bent the top round can set to low for the bolt to 'pick it up' right or the tip to aline with the feed ramp. It is an easy fix most of the time(depending on the damage). Just a little careful bending and shaping. Brownell's sells a tool for 'tuning 'the feed lips but it can be done with a pair of pliers. Smooth jaws are best so you don't bur up the edge.

I'm using a ton of Magpul stuff. UBR stock to balance out the weight of my mid-length with 12" rail and Full profile barrel. AVG on the forend, MS2 sling.
The stuff seems to be well built, priced reasonably, and designed with a user in mind, as far as my experience goes.
