intro:
Ive had my eye on this sword for a few years, I have owned a few kc katanas and euro swords and have been hapy with all of them.
Histoical:
i am not sure if this swrod is based on a historical sword or if it was a in house thing. if any one knows please feel free to add to this
Disclosure:
Ive owned kc and pc blades mostly over the years. so i my views here are based on what i know
Initial Impressions:
the sword was shipped fast to me, it came in a plane box and in side it was wrapped in bubble wrap. apon removing the sword i was pleased that the sword fits nice and snug in the scabbard. the blade came rust free and with a nice working polish to it. very well oiled as well.
specs:
blade is 25",
grip is 6"
pob is 2" out
weight is just under 2lbs
Components:
the blade is 1.3" wide and 0.25" thick at the base and tapers to 0.95" wide and 0.12" thick just before the tip. the fuller is shallow and even on both sides. it has a slight apple seed shape to it. came sharp
grip is 1.4" at the wides part. had a flat cord wrap that is very thight, it is oval and fits my hands very well, the grip can do 2 hands. the guard and pommel are solid steel blackend. the guard tappers in thickness slightly
the scabbard is wood with a clear coat to it, the fittings are all blackend steel.
handling:
this sword is amazing to me, it feels like its a part of my body, its fast and feels like holding just a hilt lol, i have not done any test cutting yet due to weather.
conclusion:
Im very happy with this little sword, its light, fast and handles like a dream. i may just start liking Jian style swrods more then katanas after this O.o
pros:
well made, clean lines and great handling
Cons:
at 295$ it does cost more then some others out there, a bit plain
bottom line:
i would highly recommend this sword to any one that is looking for a Jian that is a bit different, it does come in 3 blade sizes 25, 29, and 33"
