I'm curious what people like for tsuba. I'd prefer to see pictures but if all you have is description that is ok I guess. I tend to like simple iron cut out designs I liked this tsuba on the Ronin Katana dojo pro #6 I reviewed a lot: I also liked the design of the tsuba on the Cheness Kaze, I just wish it hadn't been zinc alloy.

iron sukashi are great (i have the lotus tsuba on my ronin dojo pro) other than that if i had money i would love to have a heianjo style tsuba like this one.

I'm like you, Tom. I prefer the simple iron type of tsuba. I don't like the flashy ones because they are usually of poor quality with mold lines and crappy paint jobs (on anything I can afford). I like the tsuba on the Kris Cutlery and Ronin models. I do loves me a fancy tsuba, but it would have to be an antique or custom made which is generally out of my budget. A few of the Hanwei are nice enough. But look at the fantastic detail in the carving on this and the carefully applied patina and gilding.....amazing! $10,000 TSUBA!

I generally prefer carved oval tsuba. My favorite antique: And my all time favorite:

I love Simple tsuba with little decoration. I think kanji deeply inscribed is quite beautiful, but I also really like tsuba with a lip. so a combination of these two tsuba would be awesome!

I like the tsuba that came on my 25th anniversary shinto. I really like the dragon, and think it looks great in silver plate.

My absolute favorite of all time. I believe it as made by Katsuhira.

I tend to like mokko type tsubas, particularly the ones that are only lightly indented into a squarish oval. But I like various shapes and designs for various reasons. My favorite is one I recently made and will be going on a KC 26 later in the year.

I'm a man of simple tastes. While I can appreciate a good artful one, my overall favorite is: M.

I kind of like non-oval tsubas. Anything squared or polygonal is kind of cool. I kind of like This one, and was kind of thinking that I might use it for a project sword (black rayskin and saya with purple ito and sageo?) or use it as a basis for a custom tsuba.
