Very good review +1 Karma for you. I was considering them for a sword and as that I like to pimp up my swords , The problems you encountered with the polish and fittings are of little consequence to me. My main concern is the quality of the blade, which you seem well satisfied with. Thank you for your time to review this item.

I was doing well reading that review and taking it all in until he mirrored picture came up and then I just lost my train of thought somehow. I hope we see some more reviews, I said reviews not reflected pictures, of this sellers stuff to see how their other blades are.

hello,
funny that your story is identicle to mine. i am no sword expert, but i know semprini from roses, and was actually very impressed with the pictures from the jwhotsteelforge. i didnt want to get my hopes up to high but they sell their product very well and you cant help but hoping for the best. but when i recived mine two days ago i was so disapointed! i almost threw it in the garbage i was so mad! the mirror polish, the fake etched hamon, and the folds look fake as well! i didnt care about the fittings since i was going to redo everything anyway, but i was real disapointed. so i started hitting the forums and found your tanto review and felt their was hope! so please i am asking for some advice on how you polished your tanto since i have never polished. as detailed aas you can give it to me! i have the 14" tanto and would like to see the real hamon and beauty you turned yours into. if you could email me directly to me email ( dancinzen@hotmail.com ) i would be able to see it faster. thank you so much! sincerly

I believe the polish may get damaged if there's some rattle in the saya ( during transport ). I don't think they'd do fake folds, what's the point if they're making real ones? Counter polished hamon can indeed be missleading. Still dancinzen, don't be so hasty with your decisions:p Their swords look bad on the outside but infact from what i've seen they're really nice for the price.
