Wow, that was fast. She looks good. I hope she serves you well I think many deepekas have threaded pommels and judging by the resin it would seem that the hilt assembly is glued as well; This can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. I agree, leave the scabbard off for display...she looks better naked (also will make it easier to catch encroaching rust)

The British Museum uses a microcrystallne wax polish called "Renaissance Wax" to clean and rust proof all their swords. The manufacturer has a website at www.picreator.co.uk but it shouldn't be too hard to find a supplier in Wales.
