Hello, Just posting some of my work over here. Hope you like~ A Katzbalger, guard a double loop rather than a roped S:     My imperfect recreation of Haldir's sword, from 'The Two Towers'. Imperfect because the 'ricasso' section is too short; other than that, though, it's fairly close to the sketch in the 'Arms and Armour' spinoff book.    I think that'll do for starters, hope you all are still interested after this! |

Thanks for your replies! SanMarc: The Katzbalger's grip is entirely wood, with a brass wire wrap around the front portion. I'm not sure of the authenticity of the form, but I happen to like it, so eh-- fills up my big paws nicely. It could be troublesome for a smaller-handed person, though. bushidoblade: yes, they are entirely wood, aside from the occasional leather grip wrap or wire embellishments. I would do metal blades, except I lack the $ to produce them... More! A sort of kopis/falcata, approx 28" long. A very nice chopper, actually-- a lot of it was inspired by my old kukri.  A scimitar. Blade loosely based on the Light Cav sword from Cold Steel, grip an Arab style I found in a Claude Blair book and rather liked. It's unfinished, obviously-- needs a little more light sanding to clean it up, and then staining and painting. Other than that, it's almost done...   A closer look at the inscription, which I did with a little dremel etching tool:  For giggles, a rather crappy rapier hilt I did when I was 17:  A pair of pistols I made around the same time, one Colt Walker and a Luger:  |
