Funny situations with non-sworders

A typical conversation when asked what I do for a living~
Me- Oh, I'm self employed. My husband & I have our own business.
What do you do?
Me- Well, we have a retail store & online website. We sell swords, medieval weapons.
Blank stare, dead silence. (At this point I feel the need to explain more & put them at ease)
Me- Ever been to a Renaissance fair or Medieval Times? We sell weapons, clothing, jewelry, statues, swords from movies like Lord of The Rings (most people can relate to that) and I get a nod of approval.
What else do you do? Do you work anywhere else?
Me-Um no, shipping world wide & the store keeps us very busy... 50+ hrs a week.
That's all you do? There's that many people who buy swords? What do people buy them for?
Me- Collecting, Cutting, Costumes....
Oh, really? Well that sounds interesting.

And we all really know that "interesting" is their way of saying "you have got to be nuts, I think I'll end this conversation"
