Greetings to all on the forum. I not sure where to post this, so I'll post in the general forum. The purpose of this post is to inform all my fellow SBG pals that there is currently a super sale with BLOWOUT PRICES for CAS/Hanwei Tinker Pearce swords at Kult Of Athena. Check the sale page and scroll to the bottom. Some as low as $109.95. This sale prices end on Aug. 31, or while supplies last. I had been eyeing the longsword for over a year. Last month I think it was $212.95. I just got mine for $125.00, plus 15 bucks for shipping. This post is for the people like me who don't have lots to spend, and who need to take advantage of sale prices like this when they come along. I am in no way affiliated with KOA or any other vendor- so hopefully I don't get in any trouble with the Administrators for this post. I just felt like sharing a terrific bargain oppurtunity for others who may like to get something at a good price. Thanks for viewing.

Nah man, you won't get in trouble. The fellas here at SBG started a thread just like this over in the Medieval Swords forum, but it never occured to me to put it in the General forum as well. Thanks for spreading the good news. I was this -> || close to snagging up the longsword, but having 6 swords on my wall and another 3 on the bench, I couldn't justify the purchase just yet. But this is a sale that shouldn't be passed up if someone has been waiting to get a CAS H/T They have the Bastard, Longsword, Single Handed, 1 or 2 vikings, the GSOW annnnd I can't remember any others. All of em are marked down $60 from their going prices, some even more.

I was SHOCKED when I saw this sale at KoA. No money to take advantage of this once in a lifetime sale and the sale was gonna end before my next payday. I've been lusting for those Viking and Bastard Swords for a good many months now. Solution? I took my (full size) H&K USP 45 down to the local pawn shop and borrowed a couple hundred and change. Now, both swords will be here Monday via my favorite brown truck. I'm happier than a pig in slop! Looks like not a moment too soon either, as I see the Bastard Sword is now in the "Usually ships in a week" status. Jump on'em while the opportunity is there, folks!

The wife and I are house hunting right now and setting aside extra for the closing costs- that's the only reason I didn't jump on this... well that and I snuck in a buy from Rob/Stromlo for a gladius, and have been to Metal Supermarkets a couple of times already this month, and have been picking up tools here and there... I guess there was more than one reason I didn't take advantage of the sale

Mike U... that was awesome!
Here I thought you were gonna tell the same tale as the rest of us. "Don't have the cash, so can't buy em" but then you warmed by heart when you got some money from the pawn shop. A +1 to you sir!

This sale peeks my interest a little.
Right now, everything is around $30-$40 less than wholesale cost. I won't be enterprising on this sale because I bought all the H/Ts I wanted months ago when they were hovering around $200 a pop. I still feel I got a deal, these are great swords for the money.
I emplore everyone, if you want one of these, buy it now. Huge sales like this only come down from distributors where they are closing out a product line or doing a major revamp and ensuing price hike in my personal experience.
Could be they are going to modify the line and give them a little nicer finishing in order to keep par with Valiants Signature stuff, or it could be that Hanwei is snuffing the H/T line because it did not sell as well as some corporate big wig felt it would (which would be hard to believe, everyone I know owns at least one of the new H/T products).
I have no idea which, if either of these would be reasons. However, it always makes me apprehensive when I see such good quality products blown out for less than cost prices.
These are great deals guys, jump on the boat if you don't have one!

I'd been doing business with this one shop for several years now buying, selling, pawning when cash strapped and so on. The dealer told me if I pick it up by the end of next week he'll lop off the pawn charge. So, I just pay back what I borrowed. Now, that's the way to secure customer loyalty. ;D

Tinker did mention at one point that he and Hanwei were talking about maybe revamping the line with higher end finishes for the grips and scabbards, but he stressed it was strictly talk at the time and nothing concrete. Let's hope the talking is going to become something tangible, and this is a sign of that, which would be great news.
Edit: I definitely plan on purchasing the EMSHS later when I get out of work. A sword of that quality for $110? Yes please.

The bare blades are on sale. Fullered bastard blade is 84 bucks. Not quite the steal the swords are but all things considered it's an excellent price.

^Not on KoA they aren't.... that's just the regular, totally epic KoA price, as far as I can tell. I remember the bareblade prices being around $80-90 anyway, so IIRC, that hasn't changed. Am I missing something? -Slayer

A few months ago they were at the "regular" price of 105. Which is why I figured the 84 dollar price was a sale. I could very well be mistaken but I know not long ago they were over a hundred.
Edit: They're 87, not 84. And you're right it's not listed as a sale or special. That's fairly odd, but still excellent prices.

first it's standard KOA pricing- which is always showing as well below list/msrp prices- then there's the supersale price on top of that for some of the full swords

Grrr! I ordered the Viking last Friday, and I just got an email from Ryan, saying I placed my order juuuuust as they sold the last one they had in the store. They're getting new ones in a couple days, so it's still coming to me, but I'm gonna have to wait an extra week. No, you can't do this to me! I'm a modern American, I want my instant gratification NOW, dammit! Hahahah...

Seeing all those sale swords got me thinking and instead of buying a sword, I just bought a bare blade from KOA and a pommel from my Eyal at DSA. Sword hilting project coming soon, yay! No instant gratification for me this time.
Guess I should also thank Gaffer as well. Seeing his post of that gorgeous piece he re-hilted inspired me to do another re-hilt myself.
