OK the other day I was wandering YouTube and found some amazing videos. I also found another cool video (not sword related) I will share with you at the end here. *edit, sorry folks, but the guys account for these first 3 videos on youtube was canceled, due to copywrite violations. He had been warned for using music a couple times already, but looks like they decided he had violated music copywrites again vid links are back up and working folks hope you enjoy ;D There is more from TPRoach on youtube if you want to check it out. While not all functional useful stuff, this is some pretty amazing sword work with beauty too it. For all you Euro fans, check this one out. A little katana work in the beginning then... The extra little plus here is an amazing parkour video I found.

So do you know some amazing videos? What I really liked about these videos most (besides the Kenvert demo 4) was the entertaining production/presentation of them. Post up some cool sword work videos if you know any. There is just some amazing stuff out there I know it, so come on share with us all.

I saw a video of this guy on a Japanese game/talk/? show and he did some CRAZY cool stuff. A guy with an Airsoft pistol stood about 20ft away and he actually cut the projectile in two! They said that most regular people would not even be able to SEE something that small coming at them that fast from that range. They also put a pea-pod (like a string bean) FLAT (as in, on it's side, not on end) on a stand and he sliced it clean in half, with all of the peas cut in half without any missing or it having flown into the audience. I think he may be some genetically engineered super-samurai secret weapon of the future....or a cyborg.

All these national hero's are nice and everything, but have you guys not seen muerteblack's (local SBG forumite) do his insane cutting? Horizontal green beans, airborne pea, I think he even cut through space and time once, but that messed with the camera, so it couldn't be posted.

BWAHAHAHAHAH! I never liked that guy anyways. He needed to have his ego deflated, imo.

BWAHAHAHAHAH! I never liked that guy anyways. He needed to have his ego deflated, imo. Agreed. Maybe I'm just mean, but I have to say I smiled when I read that his account is gone. Less rubbish, if you ask me... the Japanese hero dude and our SBGer Muerteblack may be excellent, but that other youtube guy was ridiculous... he looked like a 100% show martial artist; the type of guy who can look awesome, and impress a crowd, but if you pit him against a REAL fighter, he'd be dead before you could blink. Just my $0.02, I guess, but anyone who makes videos simply to glorify their own potency is ridiculous, IMO. Thanks for that last video; it was cool! ;D -Slayer

when did he ever say he was making vids to glorify his own potency? You learn by watching yourself. There is nothing wrong with what Roach was doing, he never said he was a sensei or that those things should be done with real swords and he had demonstrations of his actual training. How is what he was doing any different to the cutting vids and whatnot on this site? Or the couple of twirling vids I put up? Am I ridiculous because I just wanted to put up something that was fun and enjoyable?

Am I ridiculous because I just wanted to put up something that was fun and enjoyable? I would agree with you there. Roach had admitted that much of his twirling was not for combat. I had a couple messages with him and he actually seemed pretty down to earth and nice. Not a giant ego. He admitted freely he had not heard of the Kissaki-moroha-zukuri style sword like I own. I honestly did not get the impression he was doing anything but sharing some fun videos of sword work. To be honest Roach's videos were much more interesting than the tons of water bottle cutting vids out there. Sure Roach used a bunch of entertaining nonfight moves, but he also had some very real kata and practical sword use too. While not the perfect sword demo's to study and learn from, they were entertaining motivational vids that could get a person excited to go practice.

Here are some more videos for people since TPRoach's channel was taken down. While these may not be near the level of TPRoach, they are still fun to watch.
Seems there are a few here who are haters of TPRoach, and I would have to say to those who disliked his videos, to go ahead and post up vids of yourself doing better sword work. If you feel his swordmanship is so lacking, then show us your amazing skills that put his to shame.

For those of you who missed seeing the TPRoach vids, here is a video with tricks similar to what TPRoach did. Please note that in the decription of the video here is this disclaimer "This video was prepared only for show purposes. It shows control of steel weapon with realistic weight. I am not interested in ninjas or samurais, neither with Eastern sports such as Iaido or Kendo or such."

Yeah, I have to watch videos here at work during lunch since all I have at home is a Slow-Dem I finally got to watch the videos, most were good, the Samurai and the parkour were both awesome Where I can at least maneuver swords, I have always had to admire Parkour from a distance, since trying any of that would end with me in an ER, or as a crumpled heap of meat and broken bones at the bottom of some tall building or chasm

Yes I found that Parkour vid to be the best I have ever seen, production and presentation side. It has some great stuff though my favorite part is the one up on the mountain and the cool cave house I just thought it cool showing how Parkour can be used outside of urban areas.

I find it fascinating how far that guy can jump down and not be injured, and how far he can jump across horizontally It is like watching anime, but real Also, how does someone look across a 2ft gap between cliffs or structures and say, yep, I can make that leap, when a mistake will result in a permanently crippling or deadly fall It's not like if you are wrong, you can say Oops, I have to do that over again, like when you accidentally bat a bottle instead of cutting it Just incredible, and it takes a real big pair
