OUCH! You, my good sir, have just won a karma from me for TOTALLY winning that little argument, be it as humorous as it may. +1 2 U. However.... well, yeah, you'd kill me at wrestling. I AM a lightweight to the extreme at 5'9" and 122 lbs. ;D But..... in a freestyle type of match, watch out man, 'cause I LOVE the unexpected. And no one has ever accused me of fighting fair. All 'cause I'm a ninja-samurai-cowboy-hooligan, yeehaw! (THAt part was a joke... as I hope you would have guessed. ) Or, better yet, how about we call ourselves comrades in the fight against zombies and their waterbottle accomplices, so we don't have to match up agaisnt one another? Hey, I never shy from a fight, but what's better, a friend and comrade, or a broken nose while trying to prove yourself to a rival? Anyway, sorry for being so exuberantly cheerful, lol. ;D Smiley usage comes naturally to me, as they embody the concept of expressionalism, and, well, I'm generally an expressive sort of guy! Right, shutting up now. -Slayer

Why thank you, my fellow EZSP (elite zombie squad professional). I'll take out the tall ones with a katana, while you slice and dice the smaller ones with shorter reach with your dual kuhkris, 'k? lol. ;D -Slayer (of zombies, 'cause zombies are mean... )

Hm. 60 bucks ain't bad. 'Round the price range of Ka-bars and other stuff... like... the hissatsu. I wouldn't mind having one. Wonder if I'll ever reach the point where I'd shell out $260-ish for a BBC. Imagine whipping one of those out in a Crocodile Dundee-esque moment.

Drawing the BBC Crocodile Dundee style would totally kickass About the Hissatsu, I had the opportunity to hold one in my hands (my martial arts teacher came with his and showed it to the class), it is a sexy little blade, however I don't like that it doesn't have a more secure looking and feeling fingerguard...

Whoops, totally worded my sentences weirdly. Made it sound like I wouldn't mind having a hissatsu. I actually already have one. What I meant to say is that I wouldn't mind having an OSS, but... I'm really digging the BBC right now. I kinda want to shell out the green for it, like, right now. If I went for the BBC, then there'd kinda be no reason to go for the OSS. ...Then I see this: /index.cgi?board=europeansword&action=display&thread=17454 and I've wanted a Praetorian for quite some time now. It's actually the only gladius I'm interested in. Maybe because it's not strictly historically correct.
I kinda agree with the lack of a finger guard on the hissatsu. Haven't tried any cutting with it, but I'd image that it's quite possible that one would easily lose grip of it in an actual... knife-y situation.
Oh, de-railing your review thread. My bad.

Nice review Sebastian. I have both the OSS and the Black Bear Classic. I have to echo Odingaard's comments. As far as useability, durability and just plain "bad assitude" the BBC is miles ahead. But for the price, I like the OSS (and the ODA, and the Master Hunter). I find myself using them much more than the BBC. I guess if I was deploying to a warzone, the BBC would go and the others would stay home. But under normal circumstances, I find myself grabbing up one of the kraton-handled knives most often.
