I switch the work shift from Sunday to Saturday so I can watch this episode .It is nice for History Chanel to actually bring real expert like you to the show .Bow and arrow is very effective weapon, Rambo practically wipe out entire Burmese army in the last Rambo movie

I won't be watching agin till the archery episode and then not again afterward. And I'll only be watching the archery episode because a fellow SBGer is in that one. It's "Survivor" with missile weapons... You really should watch it...it's nothing like survivor. It's all pretty much skill based, the voting isn't done in secret...and they have a pretty balanced challge system in place. Like when one side had an extra person for the pistol challenge, the other team gets to pick who sits out. And the elimiation is still a who's better stays thing anyways. There is some interpersonal BS...but it's not that makes you shoot any better.

archerout, the word is "cast" not "casted." I wasn't going to say anything about it from the use here, but when you put it in a commercial, it doesn't look good for your business.

Chris you did good on Top Shot last night,I really liked the show.Seemed you suprised the semprini out of the teams when you pulled out a bow instead of a gun.A few of them did catch on pretty quick but I felt the target was a bit far (100 yrd's) for a bunch of bullet shooters. I do like watching the show to see the weapons but the petty likes and dislikes of the people on the teams is a bunch of junk if you ask me.I'd rather have it be about all shooting instead of it turning into survivor and somebody being voted off not because he's a lousey shot but because he made me mad and i dont like him (BTW I thought what the guy said about the other guys x wife was funny) and he did apoligize, let it go dude and fight for your team. Again pretty dam cool to see you on the tube,I thought you did a great job and came off real professional.I did tape it to watch again and BTW I really liked the snakeskin bow.

I may be mistaken, but it' looked like a snake-backed Black Widow PL series, in Graybark? Nice job on the show! This was the episode I was most looking forward to.
Again, great job and congratulations!

Hey buddy, glad you liked that show. I couldn't hardly watch it. It's kind of like hearing a recording of yourself and saying "I sound like that?" Plus I had a lot of texting going on my phone that were watching, distracting me. By the way, good eye on the bow brand. I couldn't use my self bows. 16 different people, 16 different draw lengths, so I needed a fiberglass bow that everyone could shoot. So I drove to Nixa MO, about 2 miles from my town and asked them to donate some for the show. Worked out good. Good guys.

I didn't get to see it. Is there a place on the net where I could go to watch it?

Good job on the show! I wish they'd shown more of you teaching the mechanics of shooting the bow but it's a TV show and I guess they only have so much time in between commercials. I enjoyed it, +1, man.

I recorded the episode but haven't gotten the chance to watch yet. Anxiously awaiting the chance.

You did well, but I am yet again disappointed by the show. a 30 second speed shoot was the entire competition? Dumb. They could have at least done a Royal Round. 6 shots at 20 yards, 6 at 30, 6 at 40 and a 30 second speed shoot. Or variations thereof. Where was the endurance factor here?

DUDE!!! The sister's husband just shot himself and all Kelly could friggin say was, "Wow, was she that bad?" This how this would have made you feel. I know I would have given him a world-class beat down. With that being said, it's really lame that they have to put a reality TV spin to it... I really don't care about their personality, I'm there to see the shooting, which is why, though I think Kelly deserves a smacking for what he said, I'm still rooting for him.
btw, Chris, when are you gonna make me one of those 160 pound, rattlesnake skin backed bows?

That is very cool! I hope it leads to more big productions for you. Hollywood could use some "historical" weapons experts to make sure they are doing things right...like not shooting the CGI arrow off the wrong side of the bow. or do the "elf" thing... that's when you try to pull a Legolas, i.e. pinch the end of the arrow with two fingers and pull IT (yes, IT, not the string...)

Elves have far more enhanced strength than humans, it would not be unfeasible for Legolas to pull the arrow without fear of an early release. That said, it's a fantasy film. Haven't watched the episode yet Chris but I'm looking forward to it for sure!

Haven't watched the episode yet Chris but I'm looking forward to it for sure! true enough... but others do it too (guys are doing it with girls, girls are doing it with other girls, some get in groups and do it, over 20 millions are doing it. It's safe to say, everyone is doing it. Modern Warfare 2)

You guys are cracking me up, with the pinch thing. You'd be surprised how many dummies I see try that. Maybe with a 5 lb toy bow. ;D I've got pretty strong hands and couldn't do it with a 40 lb bow.

Why a 40 lb bow? And a shelfed bow at that. I would have prefered if they made the shooters use tradional bows with at least 60 lb draw weight (only because there is a female contestant and an old guy). Without them I think they should have been made to use 120 lb bows.

The muscles that get used during draw are not muscles that are exercised often in typical daily routines, I highly doubt the guys on the show would be able to draw it back more than once, if they even could at all. Someone who shoots regularly and targets that group of muscles, sure, but these guys had little to no archery experience.

Actually I can do it using a 30 lb bow...but not much more then that. And not for more then a few shots. You do get a smoother release that way though. Although I did break an arrow doing it once and had the string slam into my forarm and the arrow fling and smack me on the head.
