Hi Guys, I think this should be in the vendors section as I suppose I am a "vendor" for Smith James Raw but I couldn't seem to post there so am posting here instead (please move it if necessary). Just to let you know I have put another rawblade on ebay is anyone is interested - take a look! James's hamons are getting really good. Cheers Bill

Congratulations Marc I was going to throw in on that one too. I was watching it for the last couple days after a random "Rawblade" google. I dorked out and woke up 8 minutes too late today after my night shift last night <sniffle>. It would have been my first ever E-Bay purchase, next time I'll be better prepared rawr!

I really would have liked to bid on that but I have three of these forums.dfoggknives.com/index.php?showtopic=16838 (2lbs,3lbs,4lbs) and a 3lbs straight peen on the way. I'll say one thing, you really respect the things like James makes much more once you have made one yourself. Think of the video Cheness has, dozens of workers hammering, shaping, filing, sharpening and polishing. All that work done by one man............. If it wasn't for exchange rates and the ability to have a cheap labor force work countless hours for a few yuan or such we would never be able to enjoy katana in the price ranges we do. James really takes a hard gamble with ebay.

I Was watching this... and as it neared the end and I saw the stupid low price it was going for, I very nearly bid on it. However, I told myself that I am not buying any more Katana... and I am broke enough as to be selling more swords soon... so I really didn't wanna get into a bidding war on it. Still... that price... thats just basicly robbery.

Wow, what a steal!!!!! I thought the price would really go up when it came down to the end. For a sword that sells for $50 per inch of cutting edge, that's a crazy price.

Yeh, I was blown away as well. I was watching it, was going to bid on it even, at the 8 minute mark it was still at a stupid low price and I thought I'd take a shot... ...but I just can not afford it. I have to stop buying stuff for awhile. Ugh. However, I was sure it was going to shoot up in the alst moments, auctions always do... if I had known it would not, I think I woulda bid even tho I could not afford it... and set it aside till I could afford to get it mounted. A steal indeed.

I know how you feel... I'm in the process of buying a house and moving to another state, so I'm having to hold off on swords for awhile as well even if they sell for crazy low prices.

Its hard tho, when I see a deal that good... cuz I know later if I wanna buy one and its costs three times as much, I'll kick myself for not having got it when I was one third the cost. I love a good deal.

We just started Iaido and should probably be saving for Iaito instead, but it's hard to resist the temptation of Jame's fine sharpies at such good prices. ...My Precious...
