Outstanding review , Sebastian .Pictures of your Golok conjures up the image of white and Red rope Pulajan warriors from Samar and Leyte waving it in the air and screaming "Tad Tad " before charging into their enemy.
Believe it or not this type of weapons still being use today .In Southern Thailand Muslim youths would rush out against police and military using similar shape knives and machete .I read one account of lone policeman facing 15 knife wielding opponents in open air restaurant and he literally ran out of bullet on the last guy .That was some scarly encounter.

Hello Thana
I have no doubt about this story, I have read and heard multiple times that weapons like these are still used as working tools and weapons in multiple parts of the far east. Do you know if that lone cop survived this encounter ... ? If he did, he must be one hell of a shooter, with balls of steel ... That, or his oponents were really incompetent ...
Edit : BTW, if you haven't done so already, check out my ValiantCo Rawit review, too, it is the same kind of blade.

Sebastian the account came from one of the autobiography books wrote by Thai General ( he devoted several chapters including incident and account of trouble in southern Thailand because he has intimate knowledge of culture and customs of local from his early counter intelligence work ). The police did survive the attack and I don't believe the attackers were incompetent because they know how to use the weapon .It was combination of sheer luck and cool headed that save police man's live because if he missed and let one guy got close enough he would be chop to piece .
I like you Rawit review too
