They must be different than the feral pigs here, they are so wary here you won't get close enough to use anything less than a high-powered rifle capable of some long range shots. I think I would just stick with large guns anyway, those hogs could really hurt or kill you. If you are going to use a spear, for goodness sakes use one with a crosspeice You have to bait them in, and then jump out of a tree when they least suspect.

Usually they are tracked and hunted with dogs, the dogs grab and hold the boar, you run in and stab it.

I met a few Hawaiian fellas who use nothing but knives on wild pigs. They run em with dogs, but dispatch em with knives.

I prefer the old European way of it. 2 lines of people. One line on one side of a forest carrying anything that'll make a good racket, just walking through the woods in line. The other line on the opposite side of the woods standing there with boar-spears.
You can get a few dozen hogs that way. More if you have a big enough woods and enough people. It would certainly be one way to take a serious hand at controlling the hog population.
