Hey all, I just got access to the forums, been waiting about a week. My name is Robert, and I live in south Florida. I have these swords that were left to me when my father passed away back in 04. I don't know the first thing about swords, so I figured this might be the best place to start. I'm not sure if they're worth anything, as I believe them all to be "decorations". I do know for a fact that one of the swords, is a genuine bullfighting sword, some kind of rapier, and from what I was told, it's the sword used in the "final blow" to the bull. The last item in question is the "jesus dagger" I really don't know what else to call it. See pics below.. It looks like it's made of solid bronze, but what do I know. I do know, the dagger is the heaviest weapon out of the bunch. I can take more pictures of whatever, in case someone needs to see something close up. I sincerely thank you for any and all help you can give me with these weapons.

The second piece is decorative.I have that exact SLO(sword like object). It has a rattail tang poorly attached,is rather cheaply made. The ball on the end of the handle unscrews to remove the handle. The one below it is likely the same. The others I cant comment on.The jesus dagger is interesting.Could you get better pics of the katana? There are many people here who can tell you if its authentic.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply... I'll go take some more pics here in a few minutes... I'm pretty sure the katana isn't real either.

Tsuka is the wooded handle, kissaki is the tip of the blade.
As for the first one, I can't really say. Someone else will have to chime in on it.
The second and third are both made by a company called Toledo and are just for decoration. They're not worth much except maybe sentimental value. I suspect that the bull fighters blade is a Toledo or from a comparable company also. The last one, there again Japanese blades aren't really my area so maybe somene else can help you out there.
Edit: I just noticed the Japanese blade has some kind of stamp on it, can you tell what it is? That alone leads me to say it's not authentic.

Unfortunately, I'm inclined to say fake when looking at the blade of that Japanese sword. I've been wrong before, but it looks like the stamp says Toledo.
As for the green one, it looks like that fake bronze patina they use in China...and I still see casting tabs. Interesting, but recently (Read: no older than the late 1980s) made.

Don't know about the first one, to me it looks like an indian shaman holding a club with fur coat. The patina looks new, but I've never seen anything like it.
The rest of the swords are probably modern decoration reproductions (1970+) from Toledo, Spain. Today Toledoswords are known through Marto.

My monitor is worse off than I thought.Looked again on another comp and it does look like it says TOLEDO.

Well thank you all very much for the information. I guess it's safe to say that it's probably not even worth trying to sell all if any of them. Guess we'll hang on to em...put em up on the wall or something. Anyways, thanks again everyone, you've all been extremely helpful!!

In the middle ages Toledo steel was renowned for it's quality kinda like Wootz steel, no in composition but reputation. However "Toledo Sword" is another beast entirely.

Thank you Liam.
So I take it, 'Toledo Sword' would be akin to something made in say, Pakistan?

Didn't Toledo used to make good blades? Yea, like, circa 1650. The crap that comes from there today is mostly souvenir Sword-like-objects to capatilize on the reputation that swords from Toledo had when they were still needed as weapons in days gone by. Kind of like how you can go to Florence and buy a model of the "David" statue that's nice to look at, but you'd never expect it to be of the same quality or construction of the actual work of art made during the Renaissance. Kind of like that. OP, To be honest, all of these swords look like wallhanger decorative/souvenir pieces except for the bullfighting sword. Is that injection-molded rubber over steel for the grip? Interesting.

Actually, the handle of the bullfighting sword is wrapped. I can't see any rubber on the handle.
