Yes, I'm wondering about that too. Don't know if I get rid of my H/T soon so it's quite possible that I miss this deal

Also, does anyone know if he still makes the base black scabbards to house these swords?

tec, cheness, and dfs,
Easiest way to find out the answers to your questions is to ask Christian Fletcher. I have conversed with him a little in the past and he is a very nice and helpful guy. I am sure he will be happy to answer these questions. His email is cf@christianfletcher.com

ChrisA beat me too on this deal. I waited a second to long to hit the "Buy now" button. Anyway....congratulation Chris for you great buy. I hope we get a review and the sword performs as you hope. I asked Mr. Fletcher when he expect the AT-1557 back in stock again. He answered that he will tak to Mr. Trimm that i am interested in the sword and if he will set my name on a waiting list. As soon as my time comes he will mail me if i am still interested in the sword. I think that will actually the way they handle such things. I dont know how long this will take. Hope this helps. Best wishes, Meschler

Just an FYI, Gus said he had another Danish Longsword almost finished. That one should be available in a week or three. Of course, a smart buyer would call CF and get his name on the list for it.

Not to muddy up this thread, but it's kinda related...
I received 5 swords from Gus for review yesterday. They all are "prototypes" in one way or another. All have inletted guards so that the blade shoulders sit down into the guard. This is normal for the Valiant Armoury swords, but not something most real ATrim swords have had. On these prototpyes, all the slots are cut at 2.75" since they are working designs and may be tried on a variety of blades. Once a guard is dedicated to a blade, the slots will be cut to match the blade width.
Most have tapered fullers that follow the profile taper of the blade and gradually fade out onto the cross section of the tip, and they all have a different type of finish process on the blade so that the fullers are more refined and the entire blade has a uniform satin matte appearance.
The edges are all of hand-sanded appleseed profile. This is something Gus said he's trying to develop into a standard for future swords. Not sure if it will apply to all models or just the Maker's Mark line and the higher-priced Christian Fletcher custom pieces.
All these swords have newly-designed guards and pommels, several different designs of each. I think they look more "organic" and less machined than pommels that have been available on ATrim swords previously.
One is a "shop beater" prototype version of a new Maker's Mark Type XIIa.2or3. It's a FREAKIN' AWESOME longsword. Hand & a half actually. It handles so well with one hand and a 7.5" grip that I will do some sword&shield cutting with it, in addition to two-handed use.
Also in the case was an AT1315+ that Gus said he's owed me for like... 2 years. It's different than the older original 1315 and 1315+ swords. It's more tapered in profile, more obviously a Type XII, and significantly quicker. I hope they add this redesigned 1315 to the Legacy Line. It's a pretty choice blade for fun cutting, and perfect for people of slighter build or shorter stature (like me).
There is a Maker's Mark Type XIIIa.1 like the one currently on CF's site in the batch. It will be mine! My Precious!!! It's not going back. It feels like it could cut a buffalo in half, but it handles easily in one hand. It's kinda hard to describe. I didn't really like Type XIIIa swords as a rule, but this one has changed my mind. This just might turn out to be the ULTIMATE ZOMBIE DECAPITATION device. ;D
The other 2 were prototypes of swords that may soon be available as Maker's Mark swords. One is a new Type XII that's on the complete other end of the spectrum from the Maker's Mark Type XII.1 (Antioch with triple-fuller). It's heavy enough to have blade presence, but it whips around so effortlessly that it seems like it will be just about the most perfect I.33 sword I can imagine. Think "Albion Knight that has much better point control and weighs half a pound less."
The last one is a new Type Xa that just blows my mind. This one I am definitely finding a way to pay for. Not to annoy the Albion fans, but I have an Albion Norman. This Type Xa blade is what the Norman's blade should have been.
At least these are my thoughts after handling these swords in the house and on the back porch. Since snow was falling all day I couldn't take them out for a real workout. So my thoughts may change a little. But as of now, I'm pretty thrilled with these pieces.

Well i am a bit less smart then i should be. I email him instead of calling. I am not all too good in actually speaking english. Writing is much easier.

I contacted Christian and let him know what I was interested in. Two months later I recieved an email asking if I was still interested and that I was on top of the list. I ordered a leather sheath for it and that held it up for another week. So in my case it took a little over 2 months. Good luck!

Above post modified to reflect truth. I got my longswords crossed up. I have a new prototype of the next Type XIIa.2 or .3.
The Type XIIIa I have is the current Maker's Mark Type XIIIa.1. It's the one I LOVE. If it's in stock and you want a XIIIa, this is a great choice.
I gotta do some handle wrapping before photos. Gus was nice enough to send them to me with bare wood grip cores. I will do the cord wrap and leather with cord over. that'll take a little while given that it's cold here.

Mike, Of course you realize that we are totally expecting some cutting videos... Of course. Viking Plastic Bottles and Barbarian Tatami Matts... Marks, Bob's, Ralphs, etc. Maybe even a little 1/4" plywood testing to see how the edges hold up.

SHOOT ONE! SHOOT ONE! SHOOT ONE! That is the only justice to all of us who can't have a collection such as yours, you must sacrifice one to the blade Gods! Since these are intended to cut plastic bottles, maybe it would be appropriate to see how they would split a paintball instead? ;D

That gave me a good laugh. I'll also be waiting to see oggle those reviews (maybe even drool whilst reading them). Looks like you've quite a bit of work to do, sir. FIVE Atrim swords! LOL. Remember to give us lots of sword pr0n, in addition to the obligatory cutting videos. The internet is for [sword] pr0n, after all.
