What alterations would you do? How would that benefit the sword community? Right off the bat I'd redo the grip. One of the biggest complaints (and I believe most valid) you hear about Gen 2 swords are the grips. Lots of people might find the swords interesting, but find the grips to bulky and thick, and often they are cylindrical rather then oval, making it had to have good edge alignment with the sword. I fell in LOVE with my Chaos Sword after I had the grip redone. Visually I'm not a fan of the wire on the Torino, and the grip looks like its still kinda bulky, so big time redo. I'd likely redo the scabbard as well... jazz it up a bit, and make sure it matches the new grip. With the furniture there are a couple of possibilities... they could be blued, maybe some etching done to the guard, I'd have to see the sword and get a 'vibe'. As for how it would benefit the community... well, I won't yank your chain, it would be of greater benefit to me... but it would give people and idea of what can be done with the sword. Which reminds me, I really ought to get around to doing a review or at least a display of my altered Gen 2 Chaos sword sometime.

While I'm sure your intentions are pure, Shadow, I feel that the sword community has already received that which you offer them with that proposition.
In fact, much modification has already been offered by Brian (DBK) I believe(unless this has changed in the last year) - new grips and scabbards for Gen2 swords to spice 'em up and increase their aesthetics as well as the ease of handling(some of those grips sure come a bit...clunky).
Not sure if Brian still does this work for Arms of Valour, but I see the option still there on their website...

Shadowhowler's suggested enhancements would certainly go a long way toward making this sword as good as it could be. It would be nice if it came that way standard. P.S. I'm done with shootin' swords. Too much controversy!

Yeah, I wouldn't want to see the sword shot anyway.
Yes, Brian still does the highend grips for AoV. They really make a difference especially in the Gen 2 swords. He typically re-shapes them using a drimel (spelling) tool. I am working with Clyde on the Gen 2 grips.

I'd say on this they would be about 50/50. I didn't nean it from a standpoint that no one was offering modifications to swords in general... lots of people do that, and I've had several swords from Brian, he does AWESOME work. I just ment I would do (or have done) some specific mods to this sword, then do a review with the sword showcasing those mods, so people could see what was done and get an idea for how it could be changed. Brian is the one who modified my Gen 2 Chaos sword... and he totaly transformed that sword. I've also had other Gen 2 swords modified by him, as well as a couple DarkSword armoury swords... he does GREAT work.

Just a heads up...the new prototype with suggested changes is on its way and will be in my hands very soon. I will give you the initial impression as soon as I get my hands on it! ;D

I know the Torino prototype has some changes coming, but overall it is still a nice sword....just slightly tip heavy. Anyway, I had two of the prototypes and sent the first around the country for reviews and the second still lies wrapped with loving care in it's original packaging. I am wondering what I should do with it. Any ideas feel free to post your thoughts....something more than give it to me.... ;D SBG contest, of course! ;D EDIT: And THAT's why you look at post dates, lol.
