www.knivesplus.com/smith-wesson-sw-3500s.htmlS&W swat tanto here. I put mine through heavy use (cut rubber, plastic, cardboard, rope, daily, sometimes thin wire) for a few years with no problems. It's flat on the backside and got used for a lot of scraping tasks also. Looks shiny in the picture but they come with a matte gray finish. At $ 20, it's a steal. Mine was a gift, but it cost $40 at the time.

There are lots of good options out there, and lots of bad ones, it seems. I'm glad you guys know your knives, because I am certainly a a lot better at choosing swords and know next to nothing about knives. For years I've had cheap knock offs of Swiss army knives and Schrades like this with multiple blades: www.knife-depot.com/knife-60229.html but I'm a little bored with those. I always got hand me downs from my dad and my grandpa so I have a good collection of them, but to me they're not all that exciting.

Actually Schrade aren't that bad. I just am in situations where I need something a little tougher.
Maz, How has the hinge on your S&W held up? I had some acquaintances that used 'em but a couple of them had problems with the hinges come loose and then apart. I think they had different models though.

Liam, I've had to oil it a couple of times, but it's never gotten loose on me. I just went and checked it and there's no wiggle whatsoever.

I love the 110 Buck knife. I have used one for more than 20 years camping and at work. I'm an electrician and I use it for everything. I recently purchased a new one because I got something in the lock mechanism and it wouldn't lock open, I could probably clear it out but figured 20+ years....... just get a new one! ;D
edit: Just realized I've been a sparky for 26 years and I had my first Buck knife for years before that so 30ish years of hard livin'
