Pleased was an understatement, I am pretty tickled to be honest. ;D
The sword is even better in person, the only difference from in person versus the photographs is, the white finish is somewhat glossy. The grip is more glossy than the scabbard, but even the scabbard is somewhat glossy versus a matte finish. I dont think that the photos convey this, but it matters not to me. What may matter to some is the fact that the guard and pommel are what appears to be aluminum. They seem to be the same material that the furniture on the DSA Anduril are made from. Even knowing this ahead of time would not have prevented me from wanting the blade, but my primary motivation in wanting one was purely as a display piece.
The POB is a shade over what DSA specified on their site, 4.25" actual versus DSAs advertised 3.5". The balance is such that held in a two hand grip the blade feels very responsive and nimble leaving me with an impression that it would deliver an authoritative cut. One handing it for me it feels a bit awkward, but keep in mind that I am by no means an authority.
My intentions for the blade were for display, and it fits that bill perfectly for me. Some may find the glossy finish of the grip offputting, but to me it lends the blade a regal appearance. I think that if I decide to sharpen and attempt to actually use the blade that I would refinish the grip and scabbard so as not to wind up looking dirty and shabby. Just my thoughts.
The dull edge of the blade is substantially thinner than previous DSA swords that I have purchased, and should lend itself to less time spent sharpening the blade were I so inclined.

The sage is one of my favorite new DSA swords... hope you get a chance to do a review... even if you don't do any cutting with it... just a lot of pics and your thoughts would be cool. Sparky: That is a cool swordbelt, is that the one Slayer made for you?

Sparky: That is a cool swordbelt, is that the one Slayer made for you? I'm not sure! This is the one he made for my son- And the one I'm wearing I think he made and threw in just for me. But I can't tell if it's store bought or if Slayer made it! I've pm'd him so I'll let everyone know.

I got a nice Gerber knife, the "Profile" from my sister and old tire from my dad along with the promise that he'll turn it into a tire pell for me after he gets over his cold. Not a sword, but I'm still quite pleased.

Not a sword, but I'm still quite pleased. I have a Gerber Profile, and it is a great knife, you should enjoy using it and get many years of service from it. A pell is the king of presents, congrats on the score!!

I like it too! It turns out that Slayer made that one as well! ;D It is nicer than the store bought one that I have for my Ranger sword! I saw the thread for your hemp belt by Liam and just haven't gotten to it yet, so many threads so little time. I'm definitely going to get there cause Liam's work is very nice! ;D
