Here are a couple of photos of the base model Actium CF404B MSRP is 320.00. Let me know what you guys think. Sonny

Sweet. Pretty nifty for a baseline.

I agree with Sean. And this one is $130 cheaper.

Very nice indeed. If the MSRP is 320 then KOA should have it for a good bit less than that!

I like it, but IMHO, it could be simplified a little further - it really stands out from the rest of the the Practicals - it's almost more of a Signature Lite as it appears now. Here is what I was thinking as far as a Practical version of this sword, to shave a little more off the price and make more of a difference between the two models - the Actium and the VA Practical Gladius: - No fullers. - The grip with a very dark wood finish instead of white. - The pommel secured by an internal steel bezel (instead of a brass exterior) and hex nut. - The scabbard covered with black leather with a single set of steel mounting rings. - No chape. I think it would match the rest of the Practicals nicely and could be closer in price. Of course, this is only my opinion. The sword is beautiful as is, but it almost a little too beautiful to be a Practical version.

I think those are some splendid suggestions, Odingaard. I heartily agree, though I myself think the white grip ought to stay.

To be honest I would much prefer it the way it is. It's much more of an "upgradable" package. If it had a hex nut to hold the hilt together I would pretty much lose interest altogether. I could see perhaps removing the fullers but that's purely aesthetic. And changing the production of the blades would kind of defeat the purpose of having two versions of the same sword.
I especially like the brass cap and the chape. It means someone like me could customize this model to be very unique and they'd already have the hardware.
I think its' great as is. I'm guessing that KOA will have this for around 250 to 270. Anywhere in there is a great deal.

Wait, it doesn't have a hex nut? No, the brass pommel nut is smooth and it screws on using padding and vice grips.

Sword Nation has them for $255.99 Sweet... Its a nice peice. I'm not a gladus nut like Ric Willy... so I am happy with my Kris Cutlery Gladus filling that slot in my collection... but if I did not have that, I would likely get one of these. Very nice.

Ah, screw it... I went ahead and bought one. It's just too nice of a sword to pass up for the price. I'll review it when it gets here if the wife does not decapitate me with it first.
