Take a crappy wall hanger, my Japanese samurai (As opposed to ..er..other samurai) costume and go out- maybe go with nephew/relatives around for candy before.

Since I posted this in the wrong thread here it is.I just copied this from My cool Halloween idea to save my sloooww typing! My boys created a "haunted trail", not quite as elaborate as your idea swordmonger7 but still pretty cool. They have been collecting bones from the woods and have made skeletons. And they have hung rubber bats and bloody plastic swords from the trees. Which they plan to control with the miles of strings running through my back yard . So after setting all of it up they come to me and ask me for lighting. So now I have yard lighting that lights up their trail. It's funny because they when they checked it out in the dark with the lights on they came back in and said "man Dad it's really creepy out there". I'm going to try and get a fake human skeleton from a school and sneak it into their trail. I figure I'm going to be paying for their therapy anyway...... I'm going to try and get video as snall suggested

Walking around town looking at costumes, scaring kids and hanging out with friends.
Oh, and committing PURE evil on my unsuspecting buddies. I'll offer them caramel covered onions under the guise of caramel covered apples. Mwahahaha.

Buddy of mine throws a halloween party each year, so I'll be going to that. I was planning to go as a Templar Knight or a Medieval mercenary, but now I'm not going to dress up in costume. Armour ended up getting a little too expensive given some of my criteria to justify a purchase, and once I got my sword I figured it would be much better for everyone if I didn't use it as part of my costume . Next year, when I have a blunt and gambeson and what not I will tie the sword to the scabbard and do this costume.

Halloween used to be a REALLY BIG DEAL for me up until I got married a few years ago. Now I don't even look forward to it; we just sit around the house and give out candy.
Avery is in for a treat, I used to live in Asheville and that place is PHENOMINAL during Halloween. We used to have such a good time there. We'd get in costume about 5pm and walk around downtown drinking until the small hours. Eventually the police would clear the streets (around 2am or so) - in which case people just dove into whatever hotel / resturaunt lobbies / parks and continued the party. I miss those days...

What's religion have to do with Halloween?
I'm considering the office party...last time I went as a knight some people got freaked. Not sure why, cared less at the time.
If I do go, I'll don my Templar kit...since we don't get trick-or-treaters, I probably will opt out of wearing it in the evening. I do so love wearing it, though.

Well I have the human skeleton in hand. Now I just have to figure out how to sneak it into their fort/haunted trail. ;D ;D

What's religion have to do with Halloween? In my family's religion of Wicca, it's our religious new year, and a feast for the ancestral spirits. I can't speak for anybody else though.

Liam and Marc, that seems more of an argument to celebrate Halloween than against; but the person I was responding to initially mentioned he was Orthodox, which I concluded to be Jewish, but I could be wrong. I just wanted to know what it was about Halloween they took issue with, is all.
Maybe I should've just said all that.
Liam, you're Wiccans? That's cool...one of my friends is as well, and she leads her own coven.

One of my "if I win the Powerball" dreams is to be able to get Brenno to make our family a matching Coven Sword and Athame (ceremonial knife) set. Yes, my wife and I are both Wiccan.

I've often thought about it. But they would go unused (although loved) in my hands. So a regular sword will do for me.

Actually a difference in my family's own particular tradition of Wicca vs many others is that in my family we combine the functions of the Athame (ceremonial knife) and the Boline (working knife) so not only would such things get used, they would get USED.... and, for us, have to be fully functional pieces, as opposed to the unsharpened versions many other Wiccans would use. Though Brenno does make some really nice dulled Athames as well. Though again, this is an "if I win the lottery" type dream.
