Nov. 5th, thats awesome. You were born on Guy Fawks day. Just in case no one knows, Fawkes is the guy who tried to blow up parliment in Britain in 1605. And congrats on the sword, nice blade.

She's all sharpened up, cleaned and oiled. Tomorrow afternoon there's some milk jugs that are going to meet an untimely demise. Or get batted across the yard and laugh at me for being the newb that I am, only time will tell.

You can't possibly be worse than I was. I'm tempted to take that as a challenge...

LOL
Jonathan is entirely too self-deprecating, your first attempt was not nearly that bad. Slack, I'm sure you'll do just fine- just don't forget, we want to see it too!

LOL Jonathan is entirely too self-deprecating, your first attempt was not nearly that bad. Slack, I'm sure you'll do just fine- just don't forget, we want to see it too! Good point, Jonathan I've seen the video, you make it sound like you closed your eyes and swung the sword around like a kid trying to hit a pinata. It was nowhere near as bad as you make it out to be. As for my first attempts, they were called today on account of rain. I know, the sword's going to get wet when I cut those milk jugs but I looked at that pristine suede grip and I just couldn't take it out into the rain. Seeing my first attempts? That's unlikely...Do I lack courage? Do I lack Showmanship? All this and more but most importantly I lack a camcorder. My son in law has one so video will probably appear at some point, once I'm comfortable enough to share my efforts.

The best part about videoing your cutting is not sharing it with us, but rather to use it as a tool to seeing what you are doing wrong and right. Video your cutting and watch it over and over.
Of course posting it here will have the huge benefit of a lot of people with tons of experience to make fun of....errrr....I mean offer you really good advice on how to improve. ;D
