At the moment I don't have a price range as I'm not in the market having just payed off my latest fable. But if I were a short hafted axe about 4' in length and I would be willing to pay upto $350 with postage. But as I said, at the moment not in the market.

Speaking of axes, I think a Sparth axe is in my future.

Wraith, when you get ready for one, drop Steve a line. Y'all might can work something out on at least the head. Ebon, you've got me interested.

Avery, I don't know that you can throw it, its quite big...I keep thinking/seeing large Danish warriors hefting these over a shoulder as they march to war.

You can throw any axe no matter how big, it is all a matter of technique.

Yeah, I agree about the gym thing, in my younger and stupider days I used to throw wood chopping axes, talk about dangerous things that should have killed me lol. If you don't judge the release right when you let go the axe can spin up and hit you in the chin, and that is bad!

Laws be danged, Hairu I'll buy my brother is only about a two hour drive from Avery and I need to pay him a visit anyway. BW, that was a "true fighting head" or did you miss Avery's links? Avery that is a work of art, and if I wasn't so dang scared of getting that thing stuck in my skull if I showed up unannounced I would be hot after lifting that off of you. LOL. Bur I'll agree everybody needs a good axe handy, even if mine is a tractor supply co cheapie. (I'll post pics after I get it back from the ex-friend who has it.)
