The belt design is based off of Sancho IV of Castile's sword, which the VA Castile is modeled after- I like what you've done with that sword. Would that I had the time and talent to do such...I'm sure all of my swords would look that much better.
It isn't until times like this where I realize how drab and mundane the black and silver motif has gotten to me.

Thanks shoboshi, I'm glad you like it.
For me it was mostly just an issue of time, which this project took an enormous amount of. Time spent looking for ideas, reading guides, having my dad show me how to work with the wood, and finally sitting down and spending a little over a week getting it done. I wish I had kept track of how many hours total it took, but if I had to guess I'd say somewhere around 20 or 25 hours all told. I think it's something anyone can learn how to do if they have the time to figure it out, it's certainly worth the effort.
I finish college in May, and by then I'll hopefully have a bit more experience doing these. If so I might start taking a few commissions. Probably wouldn't be able to charge too much since I can't do anything particularly fancy, but it would certainly be a fun way to make a little extra cash, and perhaps pay for my sword habit.

I'll sign up for one job if you do...I'm still waiting for Odingaard to vet that site of his but I'm quite sure I'll have something still needing some work done to. I know it.
