Now I am going to have such a hard time trying to decide if I want the viking or the GSOW. They are both so awesome. The GSOW is definately a brutal, no-nonsense sword. My current thought towards Tinker and Hanwei are full of both love and hate - I love the fact that they have so many great swords, but hate the fact that they are so tantalizing. I'd go for the viking. You already have a longsword that's a great cutter. This one's bigger and heavier and no nonsense, sure. It would be cool to have, too. But it's hard to find a really stellar viking sword at this pricepoint. I haven't used one myself, but I've heard only good things about the tinker viking sword on here, save for the early edge issues on this line.

Man, get the GSoW! What use are two different swords from the same type with nearly the same blade and handling? You can buy the viking once you've tried out more sword types. For now, the GSoW is the best bet. Get it! I just keep repeating myself...

Oops. We're doing that thing again where we bleed Jonathan's decisions into other areas of the forum. Sorry. Heading back over to the "My first sword" thread...
The GSOW looks like a very nice piece. And tough as nails. Thanks for the review!

You're right. Sorry, we'll continue in the other thread.
Back to the topic, now.

Yeah I'll likely get this one but through the VA CSS when its going strong. I'm really attracted to this sword and as usual seeing some real life shots of it its so much prettier then the pro shots. Why is that with swords .......
I would get it now and do my own leather on it but VA does such a pro job and my closest leather store is 1 hour through 6 suburbs away

Yup, I second getting this through the VA CSS. That's exactly what I intend to do.
