I wasn't particularly entranced with this sword when I first beheld it a couple of years ago, having shied away from the fantasy look for the most part- but I like what I read in your review and its hard to go wrong on a Gus Trim sword, yea? Well-written and easy to read. I look forward to seeing more from you.

Wow, I think this is (to me) the best looking ATrim I have seen. Very funky. Thanks Kristie, and congratulations. Yeah, this is my favorite Atrim hands down... me wants one!

I got on the waiting list for this sword a week or so ago, but I noticed the crossguard looked a little different. I asked Christian Fletcher and he confirmed that the AT-1509 comes with a straight crossguard rather than the gently curved one that Kristie got. Too bad, really, I think the subtle curve is a very nice touch. I hope to create a new crossguard and pommel for this sword anyway (Hopefully my lost wax casting skills are up to the task), turning it into a proper (and superbly functional) fantasy sword ;D

Well-written and easy to read. I look forward to seeing more from you. It's not a fantasy look, just a somewhat odd take on an XVIIIe. The ricasso is a bit short, as is the handle. It should have a flattened diamond cross-section and a much shorter fuller. BUT otherwise it's totally historical, even down to the semi-pear-shaped pommel and down-turned cross. That's what I like about Gus' swords. Seems like he takes a sword type and says "how can I make this better?" And then he does. Can't wait to get a hold of a 1315 and a 1415. Fantastic review, +1!
