A machete sounds better...................I still have unsettling memories of my grandmother grabbing chickens by the head and snapping their necks with a flick of her wrist/forearm. Sometimes they didn't die right away and sometimes ran around a few seconds with their heads hanging at a strange angle. Though this was an everyday part of their lives it was rather traumatic for my sister and I when we visited especially at a young age.

BTW, a carved pumpkin is not nearly as satisfying as a big, fat, fresh one.......just saying.

Even a decapitated chicken will kick, jump and flap it's wings for a coup[le of minutes until the nerves stop firing. Remember the demonstration in Biology class where the teacher hooks Mr. Dead Frog up to a coil and causes him to kick, even though he's been dissected already?

Yeah, one of my majors in college was Bio so I know the science now but at the time I wasn't even in school yet so the image was quite shocking................I also was a commercial fisherman for a while and cleaning live fish became routine but as a kid it was stressful until I matured some.

I have to say, it's good to have another soldier in the fight against cut-able objects. We have to keep those pesky bottles and produce at bay....
Welcome to the club!

Aha! I congratulate you, sir! I've done a tiny amount of cutting, just milk jugs. It's incredibly fun... but i'm getting a little busy with school lately.... I will most definitely try more cutting with different targets eventually though. I think brissybeater's post describes exactly why I like and continue to like collecting swords! I've always loved history and the martial arts, so collecting was almost a natural progression from there. I definitely could not have said it better. +1 man! I think that this site is waaaaay too cool (and helpful with the safety and whatnot). I probably wouldn't have started collecting if I hadn't found sbg with my friend awhile ago! Or, at least I would have made many more blunders when buying.

I'm a little late to the party, but congrats Gearloose. Just remember, the first step is admitting you have a problem. In most of our cases the problem is lack of bottles. I'm looking forward to some pumpkin cutting myself.

Cutting is one of the funnest things to do with a sword. I remember me and my friends gathered his mother's bottle collection and slaughtered it with 3 swords and a machete. Fun stuff. ;D
