Those that enjoy posting and laughing at them, go right ahead , as long as you keep it within the spirit of the forum and no overtly nasty stuff.... and realize you are helping this tool go viral. The part that concerns me is this. I've seen where the threads go. They get downright subhuman. I don't want to be associated with a forum who supports its members behaving like that, nor do I wish to leave based on this alone. Where is the line to be drawn? Because ignoring problems is the fastest way to fix them! ;D In all sincerity, I'd never dream of censoring or attempting to restrict anything, but I do think it is my personal right to ask (perhaps remind) our members to conduct themselves in a manner that is befitting of what we aim to do and be here, not how they act when this fellow is mentioned. Just a simple matter of "Who's the real idiot?" for us to ponder. And on that note, I depart this glorious thread and its magnificent fail.

If you can give me an example of us behaving "subhuman" in regards to Mr. Parks, I will stop acting "subhuman". Right now I don't see how I did anything wrong.

Have you seen the old threads? Pretty nasty. Not remotely what SBG is meant for. Even apes would be disgusted with some of our members' behavior. If you don't see the distaste in those cases...then it's no wonder you're confused. Now, if you'll excuse me, I left. Stop calling me back.

Which old threads are you referring to? I have very high standards as far as moral behavior goes, but I also haven't seen the first CN threads.

Heh. In some ways I feel as being told by our friend random how I should morally conduct myself is somewhat like the pot calling the kettle black. I have seen him at the epicenter of many a huge iNtErWeB brew-ha-ha and as an instigator or at the very least contributor of them as well. Let he without sin cast the first stone, and all that. I treat everyone with respect until they prove to me they are not WORTHY of respect. I find Mr. Parks falls WELL within the later. I see his vids as VERY useful on two fronts. 1. They show VERY clearly some what NOT to do behavior that we can discus, and 2. comic relief. That the guy takes himself so seriously is beyond funny to me... I get a chuckle just thinking about Mr. Parks, the god fearing You-Tube Ninja. ;D

See I would, but a) I am just as much a sinner as the rest of you even worse. I remember the fights Ramm and I used to have and b) I only just got the new glass on my glass house after the kids down the road threw rocks at it, little b******s!

Which old threads are you referring to? I have very high standards as far as moral behavior goes, but I also haven't seen the first CN threads. Actually, the first video of greg parks nearly chopping an arm off was posted by hiroshi. But even that video thread was pretty well mannered...other then obvious outrage. The old threads that random is talking about is before that when there was some people who defended greg...and that became a flame war(I did not start that thread either...actually I think I pretty much ignored it). After hiroshi´s video, any chance of such an argument happening over greg parks is pretty much nil since we all agree that he is a menace...weither we wanna see him discussed on this forum or not...we can all now agree on that one thing at least. Shadow, I know random can set you off sometimes, but cool down a bit(I remember you tell me that the last time I was in the heat with him last ). Anyone of us who has been here for a while have all been in several bruiah over something or other. It´s the nature of the interweb. You, me, random...we all have been in some pretty big and nasty fights...some of which has resulted in members leaving us. I mean I don´t agree with random, but I can see why he is worried...and he is thinking about the best interest of this group...even if you and me don´t agree with him on it. Anyways, random...I honestly don´t think we will see the likes of the old greg parks thread again...we all agree too much about the subject now. Besides which, if we stopped, we would be depriving wigi of much amusement...we can´t have that . If it becomes something that does actually threaten this community, you can be sure I will be the first in line to stop that...along with you and shadow.

I'm not hot and bothered (yet) CN... I just am not a fan of others telling others what to do, for the most part. Aside from that, I have no problem with any of the people that seem annoyed with the ChosonNinja threads. Sometimes threads pop I don't like and have no interest in... and I don't read them. The only time I feel the need to step in and say anything about others behavior is when they are threatening other SBG members, trying to intimidate or control them, or are just trolling or acting like a general $emprinihat. With the ChosonNinja threads, I don't see any of that. I *DO* see that we are picking on Mr. Parks, and where he an innocent I would agree that it is against the spirit of SBG to do so. However... anyone who has seen this mans vids should, by now, know this man is NOT an innocent. He puts his young, impressionable viewers in danger with every foolish, egomaniacal idiot video he puts out. Nearly every act of his seems to be motivated by the need to feed his ego and by pure stupidity. He is such a caricature of a man, he is amazingly funny to me. While the risk he poses to others is NOT funny, he himself is, to me, a full length comedy act. Its laugh or cry with this guy, I chose to laugh. This man has made such a mockery of HIMSELF, that I feel no guilt in mocking him AT ALL. Anyone who would defend this guy, to me, is either delusional and very, VERY gullible and, as you said, after his latest vids and the discussion, that resulted, I'd be surprised to find such a person here, unless they are new. If one such person makes themselves known... I'll be glad to have a thread with them where we discuss the merits (HAH!) of Mr. Parks as a teacher in an honest, open thread where I will not mock him. (tho it will be hard) However, I doubt such a person is here and, if they are, I doubt they would engage in such a debate. His 'followers' tend to be the worst sort of iNtErWeB sort, making sense arguments like in the 'Katana prices are excessive' thread. Anyway... I'll put it like this... I don't like Glen Beck, but I like that he has the right to speak his mind. (Such as it is.) I really don't like people telling me what I can and can not say, talk about, and so on. Aside from Mr. Parks, who ASKS for it, I do NOT wholesale make fun of anyone and give respect to all until they have shown themselves not to deserve it. I censor myself almost every day from actually typing some of the things I actually think, because sometimes it would be WAY to rude to do so. I'll not be censored by another, unless that someone is Paul or a moderator acting on his behalf. Its that simple.

Well said, Sean...and for the record, I don't like being told what to do either. That's why me and the military never could gel.
Parks is comedy, it is that simple. If you can't laugh at it, you're taking yourself way too seriously- there are very few people on this board who don't already know this guy's a clown. Those few will find out eventually, what with the backlash that occurs with every new escapade he puts out there.
Also, there's a bit of an overpopulation issue that most everyone turns a blind eye to- if the gene pool gets a tad bit pared down because some idiot thinks it was the cool thing to do and accidentally lops off his own head or that of his idiot friend's, who are we to go all up in arms? A favor was done for us! We should thank them all collectively for it.
Ok, maybe that's a bit much, but you see what I'm getting at.

Since I'm a relative "new-be" I kinda appreciate these threads. The reasons are that some of his stuff is just funny, like the way he takes himself so seriously. But more importantly the discussions about what he does wrong and the very unsafe stuff as well. I like to think I am smart enough to recognise the stupid stuff. But to have some things pointed out and talked about has helped me learn.Though many things I'm like "Oh my God" and don't need it pointed out. I what I'm trying to say is that if you have been around for awhile these post could drive you crazy, been there done that. But since this is the first msg. board I've ever joined it's all new. And I DO like the more experienced voices pointing out stuff they have known for ever, that I have never known. And may never know if not for these "stupid" posts.
Just my .02 cents Rob

Thats actually a good point, Sparky. A lot of peoples only experience with swordplay and Martial Arts are from Hollywood and the movies... really flashy stuff that within the martial arts community (At least the ones I have been a part of) tends to be looked down upon. What works for film... big, bold flashy movements that catch they are, are often the exact opposite of what really works in combat. I can tell you this much... the full contact tournaments I used to go to when I studied, you had Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Karate... all compeating... and you saw VERY little of the super flashy stuff. Why? Because it looks great on film, but is not really all that effective in practice. Short, tight punches and kicks were much more effective in tournament, tho if they filmed it and showed it, it would be pretty boring to people who were used to hollywood martial arts. A lot of people might see some of the really stupid stuff Mr. Parks does and go 'Sure, that might work'... lucky for us, we actually DO have a lot of people here that are traditional trained and can point out some of the flaws in what he is doing, and inform others on the dangers of attempting those same moves. When it comes to actually swordplay, I know very, VERY little... I am glad for the experiences and advice of those we have here that know more then me... they are an invaluable resource.
