Sorry to hear that Mogur.
Hanwei practical kungfu sword PC-2063 is your best bet. Although it does not look as nice, it feels more like an ox-tail dao than the one you are interested in because PC-2063 has a slightly more forward balance than the discontinued ox-tail dao.
Rumor has it that Scott Rodell is introducing a historically accurate jian and dao soon. So if you are short of cash now, perhaps by the time those cutting Hanwei dao comes out, you might be able to afford one.

Mogur, check this out: www.sword-buyers-guide.com/dao.html. I think that one may have been discontinued. I didn't see it on the CAS Iberia website, unless I just missed it or something. edit: KoA's site says "no longer available", so get one while you can.

Agree, I am quite sure the item is discontinued and will be out of stock soon. If you really like it, then get one soon as soon as you can (from a reputable dealer of course).

I really don't care for the extra blade length and the plain black scabbard. If anyone has the one pictured above and is willing to sell it drop me a PM. I'd probably give you what you paid for it. Maybe more, lol!

Since some people rarely read the Chinese section forum, it is best to post under wanted item/request at SBG classified and at SFI. There is another two handed Ox-tail dao from Cold Steel called the "Bagua" I saw it from swordnation.com and it is enormous! www.swordnation.com/catalog/txt_88b.htmlEdit: I am quite sure the item is discontinued but with any luck, swordnation might have it in stock. Three ounces short of 3lb!. That one heavy cutter

I've done a Google search for it and came up empty, except for KoA, lol. I'm not really interested in anything bigger. One of the things I like about this one is the shorter blade. AoV says they still have it but a little more expensive. I guess if I want it that will have to be the place to get it.

CS used to have em, too bad they were discontinued. That one looks more like an oxtail than a willow leaf, a common misconception. Another common misconception would be failing to distinguish between goose-quill sabre and willow-leaf sabre. Even I got it wrong sometimes There is the bagua (two handed ox-tail) from swordnation.com if you are interested. Lol check out the weight!

Can anyone help me . On the subject of the Hanwei Ox- Tail Dao. I seem to be searching high and low here in NSW Australia , near Sydney, for one of these swords(New) . I'm not one for sending money for something I do not see first so prefer direct cash for item deal. I normally deal from a store over the counter but advised they are out of stock and getting no more in. Appreciate any help or advise. Kevin.

You mean Hanwei Gongfu sword (Oxtail dao) SH1011 with wood and bronze fitting or Hanwei Practical Kung-fu sword (PC2063) with black scabbard?
The SH1011 (wood and bronze fittings) was discontinued for quite awhile and most likely sold out. You can still get the one in black scabbard here. Not sure about Australia though.
Also there are rumors that Hanwei is planning on producing dao and jian designed by Scott Rodell. Not sure about when they will be release but they have more historical accurate blade geometry, weight and balance. The one with black scabbard has a pretty thin blade and a little light.

Many thanks. I was trying to get the Ox-Tail Dao. I think due to Hanwei no longer producing it and lack of availability here in Australia makes it impossible to obtain. ( New). I will keep my ears and eyes open for maybe, as you said, the introduction by Hanwei of a new Ox-Tail Dao.
Kevin.
