Heres my machete.. I found it in the woods when I was a little tyke, and it was my prize possession. Often I imagined it a cutlass. It has hacked trees, rocks, bricks... survived "sword fights" against my friends machete... its still a prized possession. Not sure what it is.... I know iits over 30 years old... and would bet on at least 40... maybe more. 22 inch blade, 27 inches overall... That's the one I grew up with. I only use it for zombie attacks lately living in the city and all.

He was kidding/being a bit ironic because of the ongoing sword abuse thread. Sorry then, was also arguing with the little one about going to bed at that moment, and what ongoing sword abuse thread? I must have missed that one. Than again I try not to delve too deeply into the Euro or Japanese Sword forums apart from the occasional question as I'm out of my element over there. This one: /index.cgi?board=euromedieval&action=display&thread=11290 The discussion doesn't start at the beginning.

I have the 18" Ontario, blade shape is a little different. Got it as part of a deal with my mom when I was a tyke, "if you'll get me a machete I'll prune all the banana trees!" Man that was fun. The grip is now starting to get a little loose but it has seen some serious abuse. When I was a kid I used to throw it at trees like a giant throwing knife, not a good idea Here's where the stamp would be.

A kid in the neighborhood tried that on me right after i found it.... said it was his dads... yeah right... The whole neighboorhood was filled with machete envy ;D Shortly afterwards kids began geeting new machetes, but they were all shorter, or the handles fell apart... etc. Mine is Machetcalibur

Let's show pictures of our machetes! I'll put mine up soon. Every yard sale I went to this summer had a few. You could tell that some were used for many years and had a lot of their owners spirit in them. I bought an unusual one and will post it soon as I can for your thoughts.
