Id bet dollars to doughnuts that it is shinsakato.... so the maker would be a registered Japanese smith....

Not really, no. Pretty much any half-decent sword should be able to handle it.
Just happens this fellow uses the real deal.
Oh and Ken's remark isn't exactly useless... There are two or three other threads on this very same video posted within this very month... I think one is even in this section...the other is in Cutting.

dalton, I don't think anyone was trying to "flame" you here - just mentioning that this has come up before. Random also answered your question respectfully... I think maybe you are over-reacting.

Sorry I didn't read every thread to make sure this video wasn't already here. Didn't mean to waste your precious time. I have started two threads on this forum and both times I get flamed instantly. What a bunch of snobbish pricks. So much for a friendly place to learn about swords and their history. Jeez Maybe you should try imagine a person reading these posts in a nicer tone? He just stated a fact as all. And no one is name calling here, why are you?

That's unfortunate, but seems to be a product of misunderstanding rather than actually a major problem. I hope he comes back and gives it another shot here, but with realistic expectations and perhaps a bit thicker skin.
